Math teacher Jim Bloodsworth, a retired Air Force master sergeant, was forced to seek a restraining order against a student because, after the student assaulted a classmate, punched a hole in a window and threatened to kill the teacher, the school failed to do anything.

These are all criminal offences. Why was this student charged and sent to juvenile hall (or jail).
And doesnt Arizona have the zero tolerance policy that is so important to the students safety. This kid should have been expelled long a go. If a honor student is suspended for having a butter knife in her car I think this kid should be banned from campus for the safety of the children.
So maybe people on FR should take a look at their local schools and a look at themselves as parents. It all starts in the home and the problems we face in education are just societal reflections of America in general.
Teachers receive little administrative support in such situations. Too many parents blame everything on teachers and the political nature of such situations cause a lack of decisive action. Think about that the next hate teacher post you read.
Just another reason why there is such a severe teacher shortage in America
