remember when Mr. T moved into that la-di-da town outside chicago?

Um, you are moving, right? Why not just let it go? Let them win. Forget their politics, forget their personalities, forget their cars. Let it go, man.
And about the boat at the new place... Tell the boat owner you are going to be putting up a fence, and have the property surveyed so everyone can see the orange-flagged stakes. Then after they move the boat over, you can decide whether or not you really want to put up a fence. (I recommend a tall one -- fences make the best neighbors.)
