That was a covert war that we actually won. It was mostly European mercenaries on the ground, and Cuban/CIA pilots flying old WW2 Dakotas and B-17s, if I recall.

This story hits home on two fronts. My Uncle died in the bay of pigs invasion (he was an exile), and my cousin who was sent to angola by Castro was eaten by cannibals. Talk about synchronicity.

That book is hard to get. Minimal availability. Going for $30 on used book websites. One guy says the book is mostly fantasy.
