Now they relegate articles about possible terrorists to page 3. How fast "we" (not FReepers) forget.

Your post opened my mind. The first place to look for these terrorists would be within liberal strongholds as they are overrun with political correctness.
Since they have already started doing this, it means they have caught on to the liberals' hatred for America and everything it stands for.
Plus they know how liberals hate 'profiling'.

I wonder where in Cambridge this guy lived. When I was in Boston for professional training a year or so ago, I joggec past the apartment building I used to live in in East Cambridge when I was in graduate school. I happened to run past a new apartment building on the Charles River next to the Science Museum where I think I have read members of bin Laden's family lived. I wonder if this guy lived there or nearby.

".....bin Ladens family lived..."
Until September 12, when President Bush helped them all onto a jet to Saudi!
No questions, no arrests.

One does wonder what they were in/up to. Socializing with Chomsky at MIT between his rants?

It's kind of hard to charge them with 'posession of flight manuals,' so we have to do what the legal system allows, in the hopes that before it comes up to trial and he gets let loose on a technicality, some additional evidence can be obtained from his home or from witnesses and associates which can offer more hope for the prosecutor. The disadvantage with a system which 'presumes innocence' is that it does presume innocence, and this is not a good thing when you want to prevent crime or prosecute criminals but it is a good thing if you ever get wrongfully accused of a crime.
I don't think any of us want the alternative system, although the system we have clearly could use some reform. We had a glimpse of an alternative system back when Janet Reno had her goons break into a home and abduct a small child at gunpoint on behalf of a foreign dictator... by arresting the child for 'crimes' which she knew had not been committed ... using a search warrant which mysteriously was never delivered and a copy of which, signed not by the presiding judge buut by a Clinton appointee, appeared days after the event, long AFTER people had inquired about a warrant, and after an administration official had said there was no need for a warrant and that was why there wasn't a warrant. Stroke of the pen, law of the land sort fo thing...
Perhaps we should let Reno make up the rules on the terrorists... so we could go in and do to them what she so casually did to Americans... but then, she would probably not pursue them since she was never concerned with middle-eastern terrorists anyway. If we could find a way to interest her in fighting terrorism, then these guys could be charged with anything and Reno can just manufacture some 'serious' the warrants, some 'serious' crimes, and the 'serious' evidence as needed... and she could then show us how to 'seriously' fry terrorists.
