Republicans in large numbers still write off Southerners while relying on the South for a solid conservative base. Look at people like Illbay here for an example of what I mean.
The vast majority of southerners are like me: They're conservatives. They're not "neo-Confederate" old-style Democrats like you, Twodees. I know that you have this fever-dream of a south risen again, but the south is just another region of the country, populated half by people who were born there, and half born elsewhere--just like the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, you fiddle while Rome (Georgia) burns. Silly you.
