[history]
Reality video may have sunk to a new low with the one-hour shockfest titled "Bumfights," a new video on sale through the Internet that depicts homeless men and women fighting each other and participating in dangerous stunts.
Inspired by a street fight they saw in San Francisco, a pair of film school dropouts who live in Las Vegas shot or solicited footage of fights of the homeless, fake abductions, sexual acts and drug use, and compiled it in a wildly popular video that is billed as "the most hilariously shocking video you've ever seen or your money back."

"We think it's disgusting, outrageous and the worst form of exploitation that we've ever seen," Whitehead said. "What's even worse is that this kind of blatant exploitation has an audience in America. That to me is as disturbing as anything in the video." Can't disagree with that.
Perhaps young Mr. Beeson himself ought to star in "Bumfights II," wherein prison inmates fight over Beeson's bum.

Maybe after paying taxes on the profit of their new movie the young "Losers" will become conservative? Nah, this is California we're talking about.

All the participants signed consent forms and some were paid, according to the filmmakers.
And, BTW, this is NOT at all what these filmmakers said in the other article I linked to above. I guess they are now feeling the heat...

And, BTTT to this guy, who happens to be a Dem and did the right thing, IMO:
Whitehead said his group supports the efforts of Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D- Ore., who asked for a federal investigation last week into the legality of the tape. Blumenauer asked the Las Vegas branch of the FBI to investigate what he says are criminal actions depicted on the tape and file charges against the filmmakers.
"We should do all we can to stop this outrage and punish those who would torture, degrade and exploit some of our most vulnerable citizens," Blumenauer said.

Every time I think the moral degradation of America can't go any farther, it drops through another bottom.
Add this to the endless parade of criminal CEOs who will never be punished for fudging billions, although you'd go to jail for a two hundred dollar bad check. Let's see, today it's Xerox.
We have not only lost our moral compass we have been desensitized. Moral outrages don't even outrage us any more.
Hmm, make the top execs of Andersen, Worldcom and Enron have bumfights to the death. Now that would actually be morally edifying to watch.
Cripes.

"Donald Whitehead, the executive director of the National Coalition for the Homeless,... In the past three years, Whitehead said, 120 people have been killed by attackers who said their victims were singled out because they were homeless."Whitehead really learned his trade from the late, unlamented, Homeless Advocate Mitch Snyder: Lie, lie, lie, don't leave statistics to chance, make them up as you go along.
