Playground Game Becomes Popular With Adults Kickball Leagues Sprouting Up In Several States Each year more and more people are rediscovering the childhood game kickball.
The rules are pretty much the same as when you were in elementary school, but you must be at least 21 years old to play kickball in one league.
There are now as many as 4,000 adults, mostly in their 20s and 30s, who are members of the World Adult Kickball Association in the Washington, D.C. area alone. Now they're trying to get things going in California, Ohio, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois, Texas, New York, Louisiana, Maryland, Florida, Colorado and other states.
The craze began five years ago with a few guys drinking beer at an Irish pub on Capitol Hill. There are now 156 adult teams in the Washington area. They play an eight-game season plus playoffs, and every team makes the playoffs.
And it seems to serve a purpose for people with high-stress jobs. Many players say that it makes them feel young again.
The single guys say that it's a bonus that 60 percent of the players are women.

We used volleyballs in High School. Called the game Battle-Ball. Had another cool game we'd play in the gym when inclement outside called Commando Basketball. Simple rules, split the gym class into two teams, use one basketball. Full contact football rules apply. Object: just try to get that ball in the basket, sucker.
