Pray for Bush Day 650 & the end of abortion

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You for this day and for the blessings within it. I thank You for Your help along each and every hour and for Your watchcare over us in a dangerous world. I thank You for these people whose faces I have never seen but who have been so faithful to join me here each and every day and lift up our President and this nation to You in prayer. We need You Lord, and thank You for hearing all of our prayers.

Father, I lift up to You President Bush and ask that You would be with him the rest of this day and until we meet here again. Be with him when they do the colonoscopy tomorrow and guide the doctors so that the procedure goes off very well. Be with Vice President Cheney as he temporarily assumes the office of the President and let those few hours be relatively uneventful ones. Protect American and Israeli interests around the world, Lord, and thwart the plans of anyone who would bring harm to either nation or its peoples. And protect President Bush and his family and administration in every other way as well.

I lift up to You the abortion situation in America and around the world. It is horrific what we have done. It's barbarian. Lord, may Your grace shine upon us and draw us out of the web of deception that the evil one has entangled us in. May the judges of this nation see the great evil which they have helped to perpetuate and overturn bad court rulings such as Roe Vs Wade, and may the women of America turn to You Lord in their time of trouble instead of the abortionists knife. For Your yoke is easy Lord, and Your burden light.

Go with us the rest of this evening and into tomorrow. Lord, bless us till we overflow with shouts of praises for You, and help us to be pleasing to You in all we say or do. In fact, Lord, when we speak, let us not utter any vain words which would displease You but let us utter words which mirror Your standards.

We love You Lord and praise You this day, for it is in the blessed name of Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior that I pray these things, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You today that You are all powerful, and that You are both Sovereign and loving. We acknowledge that our finite minds cannot understand Your ways and Your thoughts, but we accept in faith that You are in control of all our circumstances.

We ask special comfort and peace for President Bush and for Laura as they await his colonoscopy tomorrow. Lord, we know that this is a routine procedure, but that when it is happening to you, no procedure is 'routine.' We thank You for President Bush's good health, and we ask that You continue to bless him in the coming years. Be also with Vice President Cheney, and give him wisdom, should any decisions need to be made while he is assuming the role of the presidency.

We ask also today for continued protection for this nation, and for our military, and thank You that, even though many have been in harms way, there have been few casualties in this war on terror.

Father, I echo DittoJed's prayer for the end to abortion. I am thankful that steps have been taken by President Bush to begin to minimize the number of these murders taking place, but there is so much yet to do. Bless all those who are working politically, and those who are ministering in Pregnancy Centers across America, counseling young women and urging them to choose life. Give us each a job to do in working to end this holocaust, and give us the strength to fulfill whatever task You call us to.

Thank You for Your abundance and Your blessing on us as individuals and as a nation, dear Father. In the name of Your precious Son, Jesus, who died for our sins, Amen.

Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

We offer our thanks to You this day, dearest Lord, for You are good. Your lovingkindness endures forever. We give thanks to You for Your unfailing love and for Your wonderful acts to all Your people. For You satisfy the thirsty soul and fill the hungry soul with good things.

God of the sparrow, we know that You care deeply about even Your tiniest creations. How great is Your love for the unborn child! You knew each of us before You formed us in our mother’s womb. You know each of the babies that are aborted every single day in this country and in the world. How deeply You must grieve for them, Lord! Father, satan has convinced many in this nation that it is a woman’s right to choose whether or not her child may live. How devastating is the deception inherent in the term, "choice." Father, abortion promoters do not want to provide a choice----they want to provide abortions! O God, we know according to Your laws that we are not granted the right to choose murder. According to our society’s laws, we are not given the right to murder any other humans in this nation. We know that our individual rights to not include that of taking the life of another human being, and yet satan has used his "choice" rhetoric to deceive so many in our nation. We hear from women that no one should have the right to tell them what to do with their own body. And yet, we know that there are many other necessary laws that do just that: because with freedom comes responsibility. Satan does not want the other side of choice to be heard. But Father, if there is a "choice" then why do we only hear about the "choice" of abortion? Forgive us Lord. We have allowed ourselves to swallow garbage and filth. We pray that You would purge us and cleanse us from these lies.

Merciful Saviour, please guide President Bush in all his ways, but especially in regard to abortion. We pray that You would show him the path to take to dismantle this monstrous work of the devil. Give him Your wisdom so that he will know exactly what to do. Prepare the hearts of our senators to vote to end partial birth abortion. Give them no rest in their minds until they commit their votes to You and Your teachings. Protect President Bush, Father, for he is attempting to respond to Your direction, and his enemies are angry. Hide him under the shadow of Your wings until all calamities pass. Protect him tomorrow as he undergoes his medical procedure. Help him and his good wife to rely upon You more and more and to cast all their burdens upon You. Help them to pray to You each day and to continue to spend time in the Word. Speak to them throughout the day, Lord, that they may always have the warmth of Your presence beside them.

Again, we pray that the Spirit would touch new hearts to pray today. Bless each one who prays with us here and may all of our supplications be lifted as a sweet smelling incense to You as we pray in agreement for our nation. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
