I no longer know if that's good or bad. The free flow of culture did much to weaken East European Communism. Castro may have a harder time controlling an open Cuba than controlling an island prison.
So what? So he wants our farmers to be able to sell rice to feed average Cubans. Big deal. You tell our rice farmers they should sit on their rice rather than sell it to a willing customer. See what they tell you.
The Cold War is over, dude, and I don't think Castro is planning an invasion any time soon. And our 40 year strategy of isolating Cuba has worked wonders...if you're a pro-commie who likes the fact that Castro has held power.
Flake is absolutely correct to push for the end of our failed embargo of Cuba. That is the best hope for change there.
Absolutely. And Castro has been able to hold power in Cuba by pointing to the big bad USA as the source of all their problems. Get rid of the embargo and the travel ban and let us begin selling things there and let's see who he is going to blame for his failures.
