Plantation, eh? Should we call him "Massa Gore"? After all, his dad was against the civil rights act.

House envy ? The Gores are moving into a big, white, columned house on lovely tree shaded grounds in a highly desrable neighborhood. Fortunately for all of us it is in Nashville, not DC.
Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have purchased this white frame home on Lynwood Boulevard in Belle Meade. Stephanie Bruced/Staff
As the crow flies, Belle Meade is only about 50 miles from Carthage, in reality it is light years away. Belle Meade is an old money, established enclave located within the city limits of Nashville. The Belle Meade Police Dept has been known to run errands for residents during peak party seasons and more often than not becomes a taxi service for misbehaving teens on weekends. The Gore kids will have a village "sitting" service.

He plans a retreat this weekend in Memphis at which he could indicate whether he intends to make another run at the White House.

Gee, Al. You're sooo hard to predict.
To: Darlin'
Hummm? This little white shack is the closest to living in White House the Gore's will get.
I'm wondering if they have any Country and Western Singing Stars in their neighborhood?
I'd love for Charlie Daniels to be one of them...:~)

What, no Insider Trading 101?These classes are available at NYU:
Sign up for classes on Insider Trading 101. This class costs roughly $125,000.00 and is taught by Senator Hitlery Clinton.
The first course taught will be in future cattle trades.

You had me scared there for a minute. I thought maybe he had picked MY town! (Franklin)
Belle Meade is part of Nashville. He will be too close for comfort though. I REALLY don't want to run into him anywhere, ever.

not in THAT neighborhood, my friend! to belle meade residents, country singers have always just been a tad bit of an embarrassment.

I called my brother and sister-in-law up in Franklin to see if they'd heard about the new folks moving in across town. They weren't real thrilled.

Wow. A retired VP makes great retirement money. He's never had a job before other than government, so how does he have this kind of dust?
To: RetiredArmy
He's never had a job before other than governmentWasn't he a pot smoking journalist for a while? Or the growing, picking yadda yadda tobacco stint? And the job he had inventing the internet?
To: spectre
Nope, at least not for long. From time to time someone from the music industry buys a big house in Belle Meade but they soon sell it. In Belle Meade entertainers are still more likely to be directed to the service or delivery entrance rather than pass through the front doors. FOFLOL

no kidding! after all, democrats are so destitute and downtrodden. how will the poor Gore's even pay the property taxes to live in belle meade?

Don't leave out the Gore's vacation digs!
THE BEACH HOUSE

THE POOL

THE LUXURY HOUSEBOAT / CATAMARAN

And, finally, the SHIP-TO-SHORE SKIFF for those pesky times when it is so inconvenient to bring the catamaran to shore

Wonder if he is going to jump into the local politics and go support Jimmy on the income tax?

Don't forget: the Gore family became wealthy during Al Sr.'s time in the Senate, when he became the Senator for Occidental Petroleum. With "help" from Dr. Hammer, the elder Gore suddenly became wealthy enough to buy that farm, and various other investments. Young Al received an overly-generous advance and royalties for his book, "The Earth in the Balance." Couple that with his current, seven-figure job and it's no wonder he's buying a $2 million dollar mansion...public service certainly pays well. Just ask Bill Clinton...

By the current Tennessee tax structure, taxes on investments are returned in part to the community from which they are collected. Belle Meade regularly gets so much money back that they have a hard time deciding how to spend the funds. One year, they used the money to buy some expensive carved horses for their "Boulevard."
Many of Tennessee's politicians share the Belle Meade zip code. Gore, Lamar Alexander, Senator Bill Frist, Democratic candidate for Governor, Phil Bredesen. Probably explains why we get so many RINO candidates rather than real meat and potatoes Conservatives. The Belle Meade elites pretty much share similar views regardless of party affiliation. Thurston Howell III would be right at home with this gang playing golf and sipping cocktails at the Belle Meade Country Club. "Old" money as they say.
Two very good links on the Internet:
All Nashville/Davidson County Property Data is available to the public. Follow the link below and click on "go straight to the maps" to search by name or address. The program even draws a little map of their house.
Nashville Property Database
The companion site is for the State of Tennessee excluding Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Knoxville. Williamson county is the place to look for your musicians and athletes. Again, search by name or address.
