Eco-Terrorists Strike Again (Bloomington, IN)

Suspected acts against development in the area

A fire destroyed what was to be the $725,000 home of Pedigo Bay developer Steve Smith south of Lake Monroe Thursday. No one has claimed responsibility for the fire and it's unclear whether it's arson.

Speculation that it could have been set by environmental activists has arisen because the home is in a development that has been strongly criticized by environmentalists and because activist groups have taken responsibility for several previous incidents.

These incidents include:

- May 4, 2002: An explosion damaged a truck at Sims Poultry on North Madison Street. Several other trucks were also rigged to explode, but didn't. The Animal Liberation Front took credit for the attack.

- Sept. 9, 2000: A fire damaged the exterior of the Monroe County Republican Party headquarters on North Morton Street. The Earth Liberation Front took responsibility for the action.

- April 30, 2000: Graffiti related to ELF was found at the scene of $500,000 in estimated damage to construction and logging equipment at a highway development site off Hunter Road.

- Jan. 23, 2000: The letters ELF were spray-painted near the burned remnants of a partially built home on Moores Creek Road. A communiqué from ELF said the house was targeted because it was in the Lake Monroe watershed.

The wacko's are just dying for attention. Don't understand their problem since the wacko's have a strong voice and support in Bloomington.

The police should check for new arrivals from Arizona. There was recently the same sort of arson in Phoenix and Tucson.

Actually Bloomington seems to be the farm club for many other areas for environmental wackos.

Speculation that it could have been set by environmental activists has arisen...this is certainly different than the headline. Speculation has it that the Bush twins are alcoholic would be just as appropriate in the story of their being seen drinking. This is shameful. When it is done to someone expressing free enterprise or free expression values there is a great uproar about bias. Where is that now?

Radical Islam and Radical Environmentalism: Amazing coincidences

1. Colors considered holy:

Radical Islam = GREEN
Radical environmentalism = GREEN

2. Political/economic/social ideology:

Radical Islam = Fascist regulation of society
Radical environmentalism = Fascist regulation of society

3. Relationship between religion & state:

Radical Islam = state subservient to a false, man-made religion (Moon-god worship)
Radical environmentalism = state subservient to a false, man-made religion (Earth-goddess worship)

4. Physical appearance of followers:

Radical Islam = scruffy people dressed in wierd looking rags
Radical environmentalism = scruffy people dressed in wierd looking rags

5. Methods used to advance agenda:

Radical Islam = Spout lies, break things, kill people
Radical environmentalism = Spout lies, break things, kill people (directly via abortion, indirectly as collateral damage)

6. Consequences:

Radical Islam = Wrecked, impoverished, backward, opressive societies
Radical environmentalism = ditto

If an expensive home for one of the 'evil rich' is vandalised or burned down during construction, there are 2 suspects to be looked at with a heavy concentration on the later of the 2.

1) Teenagers engaging in criminal prank behaviour

2) Eco-Nazis

If someone says they are gonna hurt somebody and that somebody is killed and on top of that the someone has a history of murder, there is a bit more than just some speculation involved. There is a difference between speculating that OJ did it and speculating Bush had the World Trade Center attacked. One there is a strong basis for and a logical person who conclude and the other is just a hit piece based on practically nothing but hatred. If it weren't known there have been a half-dozen eco-terrorists acts in the Bloomington area in the last couple of years (yes they have ommited a couple), you would have a stronger point.

The terror acts by the environmental wackos presents an opportunity for someone to add to their disgrace when in fact they didn't do that one. The famous act by the nazis when they burned the reichstag (sp?) and blamed it on their opponents to gain political advantage is the prime example. I hated the clinton administration for their leaking material and blaming it on 'those out to get clinton' and this is the same thing. Anything that corrupts free expression or free enterprise has to be purged. Inuendo is a tactic that is in this category or we don't have the moral authority to pursue prosecution. This is the point that Coulter made on the today show.

Hate to tell ya...it's pretty much accepted that the Nazis did NOT burn the Reichstag, but rather it was a lone commie nut...the Nazis did use it to their political advantage though. Check John Toland's bio of Hitler for full details.

The one Elf guy in that nation who has been arrested as being connected to eco-terroristic acts is from this area. Trying to relate this "inuedo" to tactics used by the Nazi is simply silly. Are you suggesting that there is some vast right-wing conspiracy to make enviromentalists look bad and there really isn't an Elf organization behind these attacks throughout various areas of this country? Get real. I really fail to see where you are coming from.

It looks like ALF and ELF are both active in the area. They usually take credit at some point, although I don't think their primary spokesmouth in Oregon says he's not active anymore.

On the ELF website, they have an article about setting fires with electrical timers. If I were one of the investigators of this fire, I'd be looking for an electrical timer.

What I want is the message that Ann Coulter promoted on the today show; all the facts and all the truth. If the environmental wackos are responsible then it's time to go after them but just because they may have done something in the past doesn't mean that they did the event described. It doesn't take a conspiracy to make the environmental wackos look bad, they do that on their own. What I am concerned about are the people who have free expression and free enterprise values looking 'silly' if there is another culprit responsible for the event. As Ann Coulter said on the today show the absurd associations made about the folks I respect demonize them while they are debating issues and the democRATS are slinging ad hominem sound bytes at them.
