June 28, 2002 -- WASHINGTON - Three Big Apple Democrats swam against the congressional tide yesterday, refusing to join the overwhelming support for a resolution to keep the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Reps. Gary Ackerman of Queens, Jerrold Nadler of Manhattan and Nydia Velazquez of Brooklyn chose not to vote for or against the pro-Pledge measure, which the House approved by a lopsided 416-3 vote.

Jerome "Jabba the Hut" Nadler lives up to his reputation. I must confess to being surprised the other votes against the resolution came from New York. I would have thought it would have been cast by the Congresscritter from Berkeley, home of the Bezerkeley Taliban. Shows you what I know.

It was really fun watching the vote yesterday. The Democrat's column was in total chaos. It must have been hysteria on the House floor.

First there was 7 Dem. votes against the bill. Then someone got the bright idea to vote "Present". Then about 11 of them voted "Present" and only 6 voted "No". Then a bunch of the "Present" people panicked and raced over to voted "Yes" and the "No" people ran over to vote "Present". It was hilarious.

It just proves that these a**holes (otherwise referred to as "Democrats") are not only God-less, un-American filth..........but they don't even have the courage of their convictions. God help me, but I hate 'em. I really do.

Jerome "Jabba the Hut" Nadler lives up to his reputation.

He pulled it off the net within three hours of it being posted on FR but Freepers saved much of Nadler's press secretary's and chief of staff's web site. Check him out:

His monkey-ass needs kicked up between his ears. This an example of our more progressive element in society, The Socialist Democrats of America.

But when it comes to his faith, Nadler teams up with a Christian to get protection:

US groups: Need for stronger religious freedom laws
By Sharon Samber

(June 20,2001) WASHINGTON (JTA) - A recent court case involving discrimination against an Orthodox Jew highlights the need for a religious freedom law that could prevent such incidents from occurring, some Jewish groups say. . .

Jewish groups have lobbied for years in favor of religious freedom in the workplace, but changes proposed to federal law to strengthen religious accommodation at work never seem to get very far in Congress. . .

The Workplace Religious Freedom Act, introduced last year by Democratic Representative Jerrold Nadler of New York and Republican Representative Asa Hutchinson of Arizona, seeks to clarify the concept of undue hardship by defining it as "significant difficulty or expense." The bill was referred to committee, but languished there without being brought to a vote.

Nathan Diament, director of the Orthodox Union's Institute for Public Affairs, said discrimination cases "crop up on a regular basis." Diament said the O.U. is actively talking to House and Senate offices to build support for an attempt to pass legislation based on Nadler's bill.

Nadler plans to reintroduce the bill this session, according to his press secretary, Eric Schmeltzer.

Actually, I can understand Nadler's vote on the basis that he's too damned fat to completely fit 'under God.'

Despite a surge of post-Sept. 11 patriotism in the Capitol, Ackerman, Nadler and Velazquez voted only "present" on the resolution.

Oh by the way, Jerrold Nadler originally voted against it. It was only later when he waddled back and changed his vote to present.

My guess is, he wanted to vote no, and that expressed his real intent, but after he realized he was going to be crucified over his real intent, he decided he had better at least be present.
