WE, THE PEOPLE, WON'T WAIT; TO PLEDGE UNDER GOD MUST BE RATIFIED: CALL SPEAKER HASTERT 202-224-3121

THE MOST BASIC RIGHT AMERICANS HAVE IS TO AMEND THE CONSTITUTION. OUR POWER AS AMERICAN CITIZENS EXISTS IN HAVING THE US CONSTITUTION REPRESENT OUR WILL. CONGRESS EXISTS TO DO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD FREEPERS TO COME TO THE AID OF OUR NATION.

Speaker Hastert's office must hear from you.

The House passing a resolution supporting, in essence, the pledge with the words "Under God" and disagreeing with the Court decision, is meaningless. This is no cause for celebration. The House resolution is totally meaningless.

A constitutional amendment must be immediately prepared and voted upon in the U.S. House after which it will go to the U.S. Senate for action.

To the average person, the statement by the House sounds like the U.S. House had done something. The House resolution was totally meaningless just as the U.S. Senate resolution passed yesterday by a vote of 99 to 0 was totally meaningless.

These meaningless resolutions (so called "sense of the House"or "sense of the Senate" resolutions) have no teeth and are of no constitutional significance. They suggest to the concerned citizen that the House and Senate have done something when in fact they have done nothing.

Both the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate are elected representatives of the people, unlike federal judges, who are not elected but who are appointed.

The people of the United States, by a wide margin, want a pledge of allegiance with the words "under God" in it.

We do not want to be fearful that in the near future the makeup of a high Federal Court will change and that such Court will agree with the 2 Judges of the Ninth Circuit and say "Under God" is unconstitutional.

THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS ABUNDANTLY CLEAR. IT IS NOT TO WAIT UNTIL SOME UNELECTED FEDERAL COURT GIVES US ITS OPINION ON THE CONSTITUTIONALITY OF THE WORDS "UNDER GOD"IN THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.

We should guarantee that the words "under God" are preserved in the Pledge of Allegiance by insisting that the U.S. House under Speaker Hastert immediately have a constitutional amendment passed in the U.S. House guaranteeing that the words "Under God" are preserved in the Pledge of Allegiance.

(It should be noted that the man who filed suit to have the words "Under God" declared unconstitutional has reportedly filed other suits to have other references to God in the United States, such as the Motto "In God We Trust" declared unconstitutional")

Please call House Speaker Hastert at 202-224-3121. Tell him that the House resolution just passed saying the House disagreed with the Court decision saying the words "Under God" in the Pledge were unconstitutional was totally meaningless.

Tell Speaker Hastert that you must insist that a Constitutional Amendment be drafted and presented for a vote by the full House membership without delay. Then the constitutional amendment after passage by the U.S. House, will go to the U.S. Senate for action.

If necessary, state legislatures can be called into Special Session to act on this constitutional amendment after it is passed in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate.

The amendment can be ratified as an amendment to the U.S. Constitution within a month or two after it passes the House and Senate

Those who do not want the word God on any federal building or in any federal document are a small minority.

They often say that they do not want to "clutter" the Constitution with language reflecting the will of the majority of the people. Thus, they want the minority of people to rule the majority, by letting unelected Judges supersede the will of the majority of the people.

If a person has called Speaker Hastert and has been told the House passed a resolution disapproving the Decision of 2 Judges to strike down the words "under God" in the Pledge, call Hastert a second time at 202-224-3121.

Tell Hastert the House resolution passed on or about June 27th was totally meaningless, and without teeth.Insist that House Speaker Hastert bring up a constitutional amendment for a House vote guaranteeing that the words Under God" will be in the Pledge of Allegiance permanently.Urge him to do this without delay.

Because the words "Under God" are supported by most people, the constitutional amendment protecting these words, once it passes Congress, will be ratified by the States quickly.

It is likely that it will be ratified by the State Legislatures more quickly than any other amendment which has passed the U.S. Congress. (The record for passing an amendment is thirty days.)

A constitutional amendment is a lousy idea actually. Everything is on the table and up for grabs in a constitutional convention. The left would love nothing better to be able to change the wording of the 2nd amendment, 4th amendment, and insert an abortion on demand amendment into the bill of rights.

Sorry to throw water on your fire but, the Constitution doesn't need amending. If the Court says "under God" violates the First Amendment, it's the Court that needs amending.

I disagree with this specific type of amendment. I would support a sweeping amendment that would resolve all the Constitutional questions about religion in govt. and keep this from coming up on other issues.

First, I would support Ron Paul's proposed amendment that would keep the federal courts from even having jurisdiction on these issues.

Then, I would support an amendment repealing every single ruling that has destroyed the proper understanding of the First Amendment over the last 50 years.

Think I'll call the Honorable Speaker Hastert with the following proposed Amendments to the Constitution:

1. The Sixteenth Amendment is repealed.

2. The Seventeenth Amendment is repealed.

3. A spouse or former spouse of a President shall hold no public office above the level of dog catcher.
