I don't know whether this particular anecdote is true or not, but I'm not counting on Bedard to get it right. The "Washington Whispers" column is a classic example of a spin device. Any inside baseball news is non-sourced, and probably made up.

That takes balls. The people demanding Card leave are largely the same gutless wonders who roll over for the Liberals in Congress. They want it both ways.

I would be very happy if Andy Card went back to the People's Republic of Massachusetts, where he fits in.
The White House Chief of Staff position is one of the most powerful positions in the world, and personnel IS policy!! It was obvious to anyone who knew the facts before 2000 that the appointment of Card was going to be a disaster for the conservative agenda...and it certainly has been.
I hope it is true that Congressmen are pushing for his removal.
Maybe it's Card who has hid all the veto pens from the President, so he can't find them!? ;-)

Card wanted desparately to be the cabinet head of homeland security - he reminds me of a two year old who has lost his teddy bear. He is a waste of useful air.
