The legislation, approved by voice vote, would allow up to 1,400 pilots — 2% of the workforce — to volunteer to undergo training and obtain permission to carry guns on board planes they are piloting.

They will get their 1,400 pilots the first day!

We have the Democrats to thank for limiting the number of pilots participating and putting a time-limit on it.

Where are the damn voters to get these scum out of our government.

PS: Rumor has it Mineta is leaving. I'll bet Bush didn't want to go against him openly over this and is letting him resign.

It will never get out of Ernest Hollings' Senate committee unless the American people raise holy Hell!!!

The line in this article saying the bill was "bipartisan" is BS. The Republicans put out a clean bill and the Democrats put the time limit and the provision for just 2% of pilots. At first they demanded that only 250 participate, but the Republicans twisted a few body parts.
