The Associated Press

TUCSON -- An indictment has been handed up in Tucson against a man accused of killing his family's dog and cat with a baseball bat.

Alejandro Gutierrez Jr., 30, is charged with two counts of cruelty to animals resulting in serious physical injury.

Tucson police went to Gutierrez's home June ninth on a domestic violence call. While speaking with Gutierrez' wife, the woman said her husband had killed their dog and cat.

Officers then found the animal dead in the backyard, along with an aluminum bat with blood on it.

Now, I knew the pledge of allegiance was religious, thanks to the utterances of the esteemed Ninth Circuit. However, I did not realize that the Pledge's religion required animal sacrifice.
