LYING AGAIN: DEMOCRATS THINK YOU ARE STUPID
Etherzone ^ | Ed Henry

Posted on 06/26/2002 9:03:52 AM PDT by newsperson999

Can you believe it? The democrats are warning that not raising the debt limit by the end of this week might affect Social Security checks that the retired and disabled are supposed to receive on the third of July. They are trying to make it seem like the Social Security outlays are dependent on the government's ability to borrow. And some nitwits may believe them. That's the sad part.

Suddenly the cash cow, the one thing in the District of Corruption that operates smoothly, the slush fund that they've robbed consistently as fast as the money comes in, the mother lode, the entitlement that produces annual surpluses in the hundreds of billions is supposed to be in need of borrowing in order to meet its commitments. How ridiculous is that?

This is a perfect example of how far the democrats will go to create scare stories. Another case of lying through their teeth. And another illustration of how stupid the democrats think their own constituents are. Anything for a vote.

Unfortunately, they're right. Most of the sheeple are stupid & will believe whatever the media tells them. The fact of the matter is that the people receiving SS TODAY, are getting the money from people working TODAY. The money that comes out of our checks goes directly to those receiving benefits today.

Republicans say and think what? Can you say, Budget surplus, Tax break, Balanced budget? Talk about cooking books, taking responsibility and thinking that Americans will buy anything.

If people did not trust the government for their social security, this kind of worry would not happen in the first place. What are they thinking? The Dems talking about social security is like the fox in the hen house telling the chickens they cannot manage themselves but they must help get the other foxes.

"Must be nice living in a fantasy." Does anyone else see this country as I do, just one big fool's paradise? I hate to be so negative but I just cannot find much to be positive about. I believe things are going to get much worse before there is any chance of them getting better.

Democrats ultimately are their own worst enemy. I will always support raising the debt limit over raising taxes because when the socialists run out of credit they lose their power to do more economic damage. It's against conservative nature to borrow huge sums of money, however it's our strongest weapon for stopping the spread of socialism. Reagan used deficit spending to not only stop the socialists in this country but also to bankrupt our socialist enemies. Conservative investors are the main beneficiaries of the interest paid on this borrowed money. Encouraging debt is akin to fighting fire with fire, and it works more effectively against socialism than any other method yet discovered.

"Tax rate reductions do not cause deficits. OVER SPENDING causes deficits."

Tax rate reductions or reducing revene while not actually cutting costs while projecting surpluses does indeed cause deficits. While this TAX RETURN was not actually a rate reduction is was a give back and POLITICAL GIMMICK! You cannot give something to anyone, you do not have in the first place.

The tax return was not based on hard cash on hand. It was based on a projected surplus that had more holes in it than a strainer. The tax return added to the deficit while you are correct, the overspending was is the leading casuse.

Anyway you look at it the Congress and the White House cooked the books for political reasons.

First the Republicans are also part of this problem. Second, you have no choice right now with not supporting the raising of the ceiling, the cause and effect of not doing so is mind boggling. Finally, yes Reagan did bring down the evil Empire by using deficit spending because he knew our economy could bounce back at the time. It also add to our overall debt, which politicians have and well never really address.

Sorry, great. I inform, not lend. In keeping with the lying words of the Great StainMaker himself, WJ Klinton. "I feel your pain".

"Sorry, great"

1. Don't be sorry. I made it this far and am getting so little back that I put into the system.
2. I never banked on SS being there so did well on my own.
3. But send the extra hundred bucks anyway. and finally,
4. Do it for "my children". I do have a 16 year old.

Have a great day, like it is 90 here in Chocolate Town, Hershey, PA.
