Wild Boars Terrorize Local Neighborhood - Pigs Chase Residents (Florida)

MARION COUNTY, Fla. -- Residents in a Marion County, Fla., neighborhood said an aggressive pack of wild boars is terrorizing their neighborhood, according to Local 6 News.

Families in the Crystal Lakes subdivision have witnessed the pigs raiding their back yards for food during the last three weeks.

"I saw a pig looking in the window," resident Edwin Aundrea said. "It spotted me when I tried to chase him away and it chased me in the house."

Some homeowners purchased traps and shotguns to protect their yards and family. However, it is illegal to discharge a firearm in the residential area.

Professional trapper, Bill Shifflett, used pit bulls to track down six of the boars this week. Each pig weighed between 60 and 80 pounds.

Local 6 News reported that there are several other boars loose in the area.

A buddy of mine darn near lost a foot to a boar when he was hunting them.

Shooting one that is chasing you around your yard would seem a pretty clear case of self defense to me.

Woe unto the yankee that actually reports it to the police.

Are the pigs flying? If so, Reno might have a chance after all.

Hey! Seen any more blue haired little old ladies that can hardly see over the steering wheel? I just ate one. Pretty tasty once you spit the wig out.

These ARE babies. The ones we get here are 150 to 250 pounds. Wondering what kind of "traps" they were "buying." My trap was huge, and nobody sells them.

They're deninitely dangerous. Big and fast and can definitely hurt you with those tusks... I'd sit out something good and smelly and sit up on the roof of the house with a bow. Soundless and lethal.... time for a pig roast
