June 24, 2002 -- WASHINGTON - Top lawmakers said yesterday that terrorists have "perfected" oil-tanker truck bombs as a new form of terrorism and may be angling to use them against Americans with a deadly July 4 attack.
Sen. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) said he fears that al Qaeda terrorists recently demonstrated their skill by destroying a synagogue in Morocco and could use the new weapon here.
