Hmmm..When my mothers husband passed on 4 years ago my mother was unable to take every call or answer many questions due to the unimaginable grief she was feeling. I stepped up and helped out in that area for quite a while. I feel this is what Tom Smart is doing for his brother and family.

And, of course, no forced entry. That's not conclusive. This house had workers in and out, and it's quite common to give keys to the contractors. If Ricci is one of the bad guys, and he had access to the keys, he could have just walked right in the front door.
That's my guess as to what actually happened.

The National Enquirer story may just be a story
True enough, but their recent record of accuracy in national stories makes them far more credible than they were 10 years ago....Also....their source was law enforcement, not some prisoner or drifter. And the refusal of law enforcement to deny the basic revelation in the story was also telling.

why not post the National Enquirer story?
if I was computer savvy I would try to scan it in but alas ,I am not.
But it is a typical NE story...sensationalism at its best..had to chuckle to myself ... they made a big point of the fact that Elizabeth complained to her girlfriends about her curfew.....wow...now that is breaking news!..just show me one 14 year old who does not complain about their curfew. Beyond that, I am fairly believing in the gist of the story, but wonder what it's relevance is here other than to make this sad situation even worse for the family and friends...I am sure the cops are aware of it and have given it some consideration.

I read this too. I just don't remember where. Albertson's grocery chain yanked it. Out here in the East, Albertsons owns Acme. Out there, I do not know which chains they own.

Could you put me on your PING list?
Thanks - I have been watching this investigation very closely since the very first news report on June 5. I am praying so much for a positive outcome.

Albertson's yanked the NE, as well as Smith's grocery chain. The AP stores put black plastic boards in front of them (the kind they put up for magazines taht they don't want kids to see the covers of.) Apparently more grocery stores are starting to do this across the nation in these cases. Albertson's did the same thing when the NE had the autopsy photos of the Columbine victims.

This is post # 294 from Thread #18
Tom Smart makes all the decisions for the family. He overruled the parents on at least 4 occasions (MSNBC
Does anyone know why it is that Brother Ed has this authority? Does anyone from the Mormon faith have the answer to this?

I'm not Mormon, so I don't know the answer. But, what business is it of ours how they decide to run their family? They are going through the worst possible nightmare, and the last thing they need is strangers making judgements on how their family is run (and that this is somehow strange because they are Mormons). Give these people a break!

Honey, calm down, I politely asked a question here of someone of the same faith, if they could answer this. Try not to jump to conclusions, ok ?

Apparently more grocery stores are starting to do this across the nation in these cases. Albertson's did the same thing when the NE had the autopsy photos of the Columbine This is an extremely dangerous precedent, and probably violates tabloids' contracts with supermarket chains. Tabloids PAY for that checkout space.
The week after WTC, my local Safeway covered tabloids that had photos of terrorists on the covers. They said some people had complained that they didn't want to see anything prejudicial against Muslims. I objected to the contrary, saying it was immoral not to show people who attacked us and may attack again -- and after threatening to call the offices of the tabloid publishers, I finally prevailed. The liberal idiots at the markets were covering up every issue that was uncomplimentary to Bill and Hill, too. I consider that economic terrorism agains publishers.
I live on a peaceful pastoral island --99% liberal--but it was on direct path of Ahmed Resham had he not been stopped as he drove off ferry from Canada with carload of explosives intended to blow up LAX. You really cannot get out of the mainstream these days, nor should any information be surpressed anywhere.
The ACLU might take up these cases of censorship, and they'll probably prevail if they do.
