Thanks for the links.
"Where's their damn spotted owl now?"
This is not good. 23 = biblical number of Death.
>Fire Chief Ben Owens said everybody who wanted to leave town is gone. As for the others, "Maybe today when we're out there, we'll ask those people for their next of kin."
"Remember Lot's wife" by J.C. Ryle. See also, Pr 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
>Gov. Jane Hull on Sunday said the fires have been described as "a great train coming toward us."
With its own headlights.
>She added, "It is not in control."
God is in control. He gives each one according to their works, starts judgment at the house of God and the place is currently in the kiln. Praise God that He can distinguish the righteous from the wicked. That means a Lot! Why do the righteous run? We see why. The fire and the flood try each man's works to see what's inside. Lord, uphold the righteous! May they buy gold tried in the fire. Rev 3.
>Wind gusts, a longstanding drought, bone-dry trees and vegetation and rough terrain have conspired to create what fire officials describe as an out-of-control monster. The fire dragon has breathed flames from treetop to treetop...
The writer left out "falling into the hands of an angry God." Today would be a good day to repent. We of course have to remember that Repentance is not up for grabs any time one wants it; that would put man in control. God gives it (Ac 5:31; 2Ti 2:25) when one seeks Him with a whole heart, not a divided heart, and puts the Lord first, not trying to add Him in with one's other gods of Mammon, Hedonism, Greed, Sex, Materialism and the like. He can also not give Repentance. See Will you inherit Psalm 91 or Proverbs 1:20-33? -- Time is short.

SHOW LOW, Arizona (CNN) :"Hull and U.S. Forest Service chief Dale Bosworth, visiting the site, said the devastating fire should be a wake-up call to environmentalists and governments to change the way they manage the nation's forests. "
Also, the story of the colorado ranger-womans' 'love letter' starting a fire seems awfully contrived, begging the question: Is she a decoy FEMA is using to cover up public awareness of an investigation that these fires are potential terrorist activity?
One of my thoughts after 9-11 was that terrorism needs no intricate methodology if you are willing to sacrifice some pizzazz - you could wreak havoc with simple arson or random urban murder for a very long time before being stopped.
Question Sunday on CSPAN Wash. Journal was "Are the terrorist warnings working? How should they be different?"
One caller, a 'simple-folk' kinda guy, made an excellent case for the 'lack of effect or overvalue of effect' of the warnings compared to the actual risk or cost of a successful attack-
"The keyword is TERROR here"
"You can't stop crazy people, whats gunna happen is gunna happen."
So yes, I do think America needs educating on how to emotionally cope with the warnings, and I do think the Media are forced to take on a bedside manner of paranoia with the public because they do not know how to act otherwise without appearing to downplay the seriousness of the WOT.
Catch-22.
Would you be so kind to give us a new name for the Sierra Club? Merci
