FBI applications surge after 9/11

The surge of patriotism that followed the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks hasn't sparked an increase in military enlistments, but the number of people applying to be FBI special agents has exploded.
"On a national level, we've received more applications in the last four months than we've received in the last four years," said Nick Rossi, a special agent in the FBI's Sacramento office.
