Congressman Questioned After Flight (Democrat House Member PEES IN CUP On Flight! No Joke!)

WASHINGTON (AP) - New regulations requiring that airline passengers remain seated until 30 minutes after takeoff from Reagan National Airport led to an embarrassing incident for a Georgia congressman.
Unable to wait in a long bathroom line when passengers were finally allowed to move freely, Rep. Sanford Bishop ( news, bio, voting record) contends he had no choice but to ask a flight attendant for a plastic cup and some privacy.
"The bottom line is he desperately needed to go to the bathroom," Bishop's spokesman, Selby McCash, explained Friday. "There was someone in there taking a very extended time. He was beyond physically being able to wait and was in considerable discomfort."
Bishop, a Democrat, wasn't charged or detained after the Thursday night flight, but he agreed to explain the situation to security officials when the flight touched down at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport, McCash said.
At the flight attendant's direction, Bishop, who was seated in coach, relieved himself in a closed area between the cockpit and first class. When the bathroom door finally opened, he disposed of the cup and washed his hands, McCash said.

"At the flight attendants direction", Total spin!
I have it from an inside source he did nothing of the kind, just asked for a cup, got up and went into the back and took a leak.
You or I, off to jail.

What about people flying into DC who can't leave their seats for the last half - hour? It's getting to where everybody should carry a bottle in his briefcase.

Since when can't an adult hold their pee for 30 minutes? Good lord, what this country has come to. First this crap, then they take playing tag out of the Santa Monica schools because some kids feel too bad because they can't run as fast as others! Bunch of nambie pambie sissies this country is turning out. In my youth I could down a case of beer without going to the bathroom. This is getting scary. Wrap us all in cotton and put us in a vault! "Oh no, Mr. Bill, that rough cotton will hurt my sensitive skin!"

By any chance, was Sanford travelling with his Son??
[This sounds too much like a '70s sit-com.]

If I had to go bad enough, I would have done the same. No joke. What's the lesser of the two evils, pissing in a cup or in your pants?

What a stupid rule anyway. Have they proven that the 9/11 hijackers did their deeds during the first or last thity minutes of the flights? If so, thought all that extra security that one passes through before boarding the plane eliminates (pardon the pun) the passengers they allow on! Just some more rules on the american citizen while the REAL culprits carry on. Senseless straing a gnat and swallowing a camel. We're still on our own for our own safety.

Notice you have to read down four paragraphs to see that it is a paragraph. If it had been a Republican, it would have been part of the headline.

It's all about POWER.
Unearned POWER.
Unearned POWER taken and wielded, by force, by those too stupid to ever have earned it by merit.
[For the POWER Lust is the noxious weed that flourishes in the vacant lot of EMPTY "minds"]

Notice you have to read down four paragraphs to see that it is a paragraph.Make that "to see that it is a democrat."

This is the rationale: If the plane gets taken over at the first or last minute on a flight in DC, a target rich environment, there would be no time to respond(like shooting it down).
I beleive the story here is that first they all had to wait to take off. Then another 30 minutes before leaving their seats. By this time, it sounds like there was a rush for the lavs and a wait in line. Apparently, Mr Sanford couldn't hold it any longer.
Maybe he has a physical problem shared by many older men.

Sounds to me like it's about nature, not unearned power.

BTW, this is a week old story.
