Milosevic caught with his hand in the till!
RFE ^ | 21/6/02 | The London Times

Posted on 06/21/2002 10:01:40 PM PDT by ABrit

MORE ON MILOSEVIC'S MILLIONS... "The Times" reported from London on 21 June that it has obtained a copy of a report from the National Bank of Yugoslavia showing how former President Slobodan Milosevic sent an unspecified quantity of gold ingots belonging to the bank out of the country toward the end of his regime (see "RFE/RL Newsline," 17 June 2002). The bank's identification seals were removed from the ingots in an unnamed Greek port, and the gold was then sent to Italy. In 1999, an unspecified quantity of antiques, artifacts, gold and silver cutlery, and rare carpets were sent from Yugoslavia to an art dealer in Beirut, who sold the goods to dealers and customers around the Mediterranean. The goods were either looted during Milosevic's wars in the Balkans or stolen elsewhere in Europe and "fenced" through Yugoslavia. PM

...AND THE TRAIL OF MONEY Money from the sale of the gold and goods is believed to have wound up in Milosevic's bank accounts in the Netherlands and Switzerland, although on at least one occasion a Yugoslav Army officer took the money directly to Milosevic's house, "The Times" reported on 21 June. The National Bank report names 19 suspects in the money-laundering operation, noting that Milosevic made use of the secret police, regular police, and Finance Ministry in the process. An additional source of illicit income for Milosevic was receiving kickbacks from smugglers of weapons and goods embargoed during the Western sanctions. One money-laundering group, which included two Yugoslavs and a Russian, moved some of Milosevic's money to Switzerland via Cyprus, Greece, and Lebanon. PM

Albanian Brit,

Milo is a banker serving the interests of his banker buddies in Wall Steet and The City.

Instead of paying for his crimes in Belgrade, he was extracted by Soeros-sponsored extraction team and sent to Scheveningen Hotel.

You aint' seen nothing yet.

Gloat while you can, the story of "poor inocent Kosovar Albanians" is going down the drain. To the bottom of the lake where 400 corpses of murdered Serbs are.

He was a crook

What's wrong Abrit, having difficulty with your scam at the kangaroo 'tribunal'. Well, let's bring Milosevic back to Belgrade and try him. Get you off the hook at the Hague. But based on Milosevic demolishing of lying 'witnesses', 'prosecutors' and 'Judge' May, I think your are going to be dissappointed.

By the way, show me the money. I suspect most of 'transations' were legitimate, or even made to protect assets from NATO and the KLA.

I don't think you've been keeping up with the transcripts. There have been so many witnesses that Milosevic has been unable to rebut. I don't think he had the flu last week, I think he is having a mental breakdown.

"The bank's identification seals were removed from the ingots"......Is this how Milosevic was "protecting" Serb assets?

Name one credible 'witness' and we'll go from there.

I rather think they ran out of 'witnesses', DelPonte and 'Mr' Nice are on 'fishing' expeditions in the Balkans while the 'Prosecutors' and the 'troika Judges' are looking for a 'strategy'.

Albanian Brit,

even Carla Del Ponte does not love 'poor inocent albanians' any longer:

"Del Ponte also accused Serbian authorities of avoiding the investigation of mass graves in Serbia.

This was being done deliberately, she said, in order to cover senior police officials and protect police who committed crimes during the Kosovo conflict.

It had been established that there were hundreds of
bodies in a Kosovo lake, del Ponte told the parliament, and these were believed to be Kosovo Serbs, of whom 1,300 were missing in Kosovo.

She emphasised, however, that there was no evidence for the existence of secret camps in Kosovo or Albania where Serbs were being held prisoner."

Albanians are known for what they do best - foreced proistitution, hearoin and weapon smuggling, armed robberies, extortion. Soon the handiwork of 'poor albanian kosovars" will be known.

Anniversary of 3 years of "liberation of kosova" is the subject media would not touch with 6 foot pole?

Stay tuned.

When were these bodies discovered and in what sector of Kosovo is the lake? Why doesn't this news have its own post? Will they allow the Serbs access to these bodies? After the mass grave of mostly Serbs and non-Albanians was discovered in Dragodan(sp?), Kosovo they only handed a few (about 5-7) of the dead over to the relatives .

I remember reading that when a Serb was shot in Kosovo, KFOR (I believe Dutch) quickly took the body away and wouldn't let the relatives to have access to the victim. It made me wonder if they have been stealing organs from some of those killed and/or are just being cruel to the relatives of the victims.

Milosevic so called 'stash'. Exactly as I opined to your 'charges' of Milosevic is a crook. Amazing that so many 'charges' are so easily debunked.

Back at you with one of your 'stupid' Ha, Ha, Ha's.
