"Where does he get the money for drugs?"
Maybe that's why he was a hospital volunteer?? There are plenty of drugs around.

If Edmunds had some cash on him, I hope the cops check the cash for fingerprints, espcially if someone gave Edmunds the money for services rendered.

Most likely disability money. Get a doc to say you are mentally or physically disabled and you get checks 2x monthly.

He could be a "male escort". People have been known to prostitute themselves for drugs. If the NE is right, and all three Smart brothers were clients of an escort service, Bret would have had a reason to be cruising the Fed Hts neighborhood to pick up his clients for an assignation.
A friend of Edmunds, who runs an escort service, was interviewed by Fox today.
If Edmunds dies, he becomes a handy scapegoat for the kidnapping.

This guy lives in his car. Where does he get the money for drugs?Well, the "drug" in question is Tylenol, or some variant thereof, so he wouldn't need much money, or any money at all if he was proficient at shoving a bottle of them under his coat at the local Wal-Mart (as the average common criminal like him would likely be). He's not in the hospital for a "drug overdose" as we would usually interpret it; he's there because he took too many over-the-counter headache pills and it shut down his liver. Acetaminophen is very VERY nasty stuff in high enough doses. Two, five, even ten 500 mg pills at one time would probably be okay (though I personally wouldn't want to try ten) ... but 15, 20 or more all at once? You can kiss your liver goodbye.
