WASHINGTON (AP) -- The FBI is advising law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for terrorists who possibly are plotting to use fuel tankers in attacks against Jewish neighborhoods and synagogues, a federal law enforcement official said.

This official, who asked not to be identified, said the warning was sent out to local police agencies Friday.

(06-21) 10:40 PDT (AP) -- "Even if unconfirmed, we analyze incoming information as quickly as possible and if we think there is any chance it could be helpful, we make the decision to send it," one official said.

The official said the advisory was sent across the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System, an electronic system that allows the FBI to send alerts or messages to police in all 50 states simultaneously.

The Homeland Security office approved the message before it was sent, according to the official. The FBI's 56 field offices also were made aware of the advisory.

Ooops. I'm sure they meant to say "militants" rather than terrorists, and "Zionists" rather than Jewish. Here's the news rewritten for today's PC audience:

The FBI, acting on questionable information obtained from illegally-detained individuals, is advising law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for pro-Palestinian fighters who possibly are plotting to use fuel tankers in retaliation against right-wing Zionist settlements and synagogues, a federal law enforcement official said. This led to renewed calls at the State Department for an interim Palestinian state in order to quell the cycle of violence.

Has there been a Jewish "neighborhood" since Brooklyn in
the 50's? None of my Jewish relatives or friends live
in "Jewish" neighborhoods. I guess some people just assimilate
in a free society better than others.

Sounds about right. Throw in the word 'allegedly' somewhere. The genius of that word is that it is NEVER false. Because when you say that someone 'allegedly' did something, you yourself are alleging it. You can make up all sorts of stories using this modifier.

So in essence, it gives the press a wide berth to lie, distort, promote an agenda...you know, the things they do best!

With all due respect to legitimate security concerns, these warnings are getting a little comical. It's almost as if the FBI et al are sitting around a room, brainstorming about possible scenarios. Let's see what 'plots' I recall:

- scuba divers
- appartment bombs
- mall attacks
- reactor attacks
- landmarks
- bridges
- truck hijackings
- smallpox
- anthrax
- stolen coast guard uniforms
- shoulder fired rockets
- airport infiltrations
- intercepted cell-phone chats re July 4
- crop sprayers
- dirty bombs

Why on Earth haven't any of things happened?

Hope you don't mind, but I'd like to make suggest a couple edits:

"...lookout for pro-Palestinian freedom fighters..."

"...against oppressive right-wing Zionist settlements and synagogues,
