June 21, 2002 -- PRESIDENT Bush has asked for $27 billion in emergency funding for the war on terrorism - but now is threatening to veto the bill Congress is preparing to answer that urgent need.

Why? Because the Senate has larded the war-spending measure with an amount of pork that's extreme even by the standards of official Washington. It's also cut out part of the meat.

the Senate needs to be jailed until it cooks up a proper bill. We are confined and under attack and these fat lard a$$ jerks think it's a vacation.

Interesting idea... we probably would be in better shape if Padilla was out on the streets and the Senate was locked up in a brig, judging by the sheer insanity of what they are putting our money in.

That 35 million going to the UN's bogus program looks like more than enough to cover some of the antiterrorism programs they axed. Was that Hillary's pet pork project, I wonder?

Well, the worship of Pork in Senate is not going to protect us and them for their elections, heck, not even for terrorist acts. So they can worship their lard all they want allright.

Jail is a little short of appropriate for most of 'em but at least it has that taint of legality going for it. It's going to get harder and harder to row this boat with our 'leaders' throwing our provisions overboard and drilling holes in the bottom of it.

The Cap Police are really under budget! One has to wonder what is in the minds of Congress! These Cops need to be treated much better than they are. I guess the Sargent at Arms just doesn't get it!

Probably that a fully budgeted Capitol Police force might catch a few Senators doing things they shouldn't be doing with interns, taking payoffs from drug traffickers, etc.
