FR used to handle Embedded Page HTML

Here is another Gizmo that wont work since FR forum changed: Add a bookmark with an HREF="javascript:wdGs8c6=window.open('http://mindprism.com/__raw/raw_searchfreerepublicpostpost.html?url='+escape(document.location)+'&title='+escape(document.title)+'&embed=yes');void(0);", then, when on a web page you wish to post to FR, select the bookmark, it will open a new window with the posting form and the embedding html.

But as I said- it dont work =) no DIVS OR ILAYERS allowed here no more.

Im a JS expert and I'd like you to show me any example of how that is done. Any example you show can be invoked by a link- no JS neccessary

See the tutorial on Home Network Security (mobile code section) at the CERT web site. This contains tips on how to prevent virus infection by using safe browser settings and avoiding risky web-surfing and email reception practices. In the several days between the first appearance of a virus and the distribution of anti-virus solutions, you have no protection except your browser's security settings and other safe practices.

That section lumps JS,Java, and ActiveX together. While the API of JS allows access to Java, this requires a user security request. In short, if your Java is disabled and your Javascript is not, the API in JS simply has no functions that access your computer, but instead access the DOM of your browser.

Do you think the designers of the security switches in your browser are going to allow any old web page to modify them without user consent?

I realize many people have legitimate, intense security concerns with thier computers, but if you are a typical person, a user of shareware etc, then to fret over security holes in your browser plug-ins and languages is like insulating your recepticals while you leave the front door open all winter.
