Bill Cosby who's hit NBC television sitcom idealized family life throughout the 1980's has some harsh words about America's favorite openly disfunctional family, 'The Osbornes.'
'First of all you media need to stop with this Ozzy Osbourne.
This is a sad, sad family; it is a sad case.
The children are sad and the parents are sad,' Cosby tells entertainment show 'Access Hollywood on Thursday, June 20.
'This is not entertainment.'
While many think audiences respond to the MTV series based on the misadventures of Ozzy and crew because it shows that even the rich and famous suffer the same complicate family dynamics as the hoi polloi, Cosby says that enjoying it is akin to 'laughing at Tiny Tim.'

Actually FOX's 'American Idol' is a fairly non-seedy family variety show.
Sort of like the Gong Show without the 70's clothes and Chuck Barris, the young people sing a song and the judges decide whether they should come to Hollywood to compete in the big audition competition.
Sometimes the judges make harsh jokes but most of the time they try and help.
So it's not all total crapola..

Why wouldn't anyone of any honor, integrity or conservative family values support Cosby? You had better re-evaluate. Are you talking about BILL COSBY, the philandering supporter of Tawana Brawley? Conservatives are supposed to support him because he created a TV persona that you like?

Ozzy is retarded. The Supreme Court today said this group is special.

Look, Oz is a burned out, brain damaged rocker with a screwed up family. Just becase 100,000 people throw money at him doesn't make him great. There ar lots of idiot celebrities in Hollywood where sheeple worship at their feet. Does this make them good or great? No, it only means that there are a lot of sheeple that will worship any act or goofball that comes along. It only means that these sheeple are complete idiots. All the money in the world wont fix Oz or his f-ed up family.
Personally I watched one show, and think people that think he's hysterical are easily amused.
Kinda sad watching this 50 year old walk around babbling and being goofy. I couldn't understand what all the people were getting excited about. LOL! Easily amused. No Oz is a has-been and just because a bunch of people throw money at him doesn't make him any better.
Just my opinion.
In the entertainment world, a has-been is someone who can no longer attract an audiance. I don't see why your having such a problem grasping this.
Look closely at the bottom of my post, I highlighted it for you.
And being close to the entertainment world for years, I could care less what they consider. Most all of them are classless AH with a bunch of idiots that worship and follow these freaks.
Again, just my opinion.

I'm not saying ALL his political opinions or feelings or leanings are kosher in my book. I don't honestly know what they are.
I am saying the man has given abundant evidence BEYOND the show that he is a man living out more conservatives by far than a very, very, very long list of other stars. I think that deserves some support. There are NOT a LOT of honorable FATHERS of any persuasion in public life. I prefer to cheer those that appear by virtually all accounts to fit the label rather authentically.

Cosby is a racist. It's very well known in some circles.

Guess I hadn't heard about his affairs. Have they been verified? Did he repent? How's his relationship with his spouse now? Did he learn anything?
Even with the affairs, HE'S STILL head and shoulders above a LONG list of Hollyweed types. . . who do it with a loooooonnnnnng list of women, groups, men, dogs etc.

How old are you? No one said the Huxtibles were anything but fiction. It was scripted... The Huxtible family script was supposed to show that black families could be successful. Him a doctor, her a lawyer. I enjoyed the humor. It made me smile. It was modeled pretty much of Bill Cosby's family.. One son and 4 daughters.
The thing was the blacks didn't like the show because it was too 'white' for them. I liked I Spy also and I also enjoyed his stand up.
He is intitled to his opinion the same as you and me.
My opinion is I agree with Cosby on this one.
Osborne makes me cringe.
You seem to have a problem with anyone who doesn't agree with you.

No where have I said that he is "great" or that people paying money to see him makes him "better".
Anyone who can not grasp the simple concept that a has-been is someone who can no longer attract an audiance and that someone who can attract very large audiance is not a has-been is a mental pygmie.

Cosby is a racist. It's very well known in some circles. Well then that settles it. I have not seen any evidence of that. His wife is a different story however. Some people hang out in different circles I guess.
BTW the girl who accused him of fathering a child was charged with extortion. The child in question was never proven to be his. This also is known in some circles, like anyone who read the news.

I would agree Jane Seymour, Michael Landon and Bill Cosby do try and put on family shows regardless of their personal lives.

Even with the affairs, HE'S STILL head and shoulders above a LONG list of Hollyweed types. Talk about an easy task to accomplish.

I don't watch Falwell. I watch very little TV..

UHHHHHHHH, HELLO?
UHHHHHHHH, IS THERE A LIGHT SWITCH SOMEWHERE?
It might help to turn it on.
*******PERHAPS******* ONE of the reasons that a lot more families are like Ozzy anal orafice head is that Hollyweed and a long list of public consumers gets their jollies cheering them on as "hip," modern, US, etc.
SOME OF US happen to think holding up ideals--regardless of how grounded in statistical majorities or not--that holding up ideals is good for society.
I've looked, scrutinized, searched for and analyzed good families informally virtually all of my life. I haven't found too many close to the ideals. But there are some. And our country sure the blazes needs to HOLD THEM UP HIGHLY AND CHEER THEM ON LOUDLY IN EVERY WAY AND VENUE IMAGINABLE. The alternatives are shredding our society, our families and themselves hourly if not every minute.
If you want to cheer destruction, satan has some good bleacher seats on the centerline he'll be happy to reserve for you.

It would be real entertainment to have Cosby and Ozzy on the same show.
To: codebreaker
I heard someone say FOX the network where the parents are out and the kids are in charge.. (Not FOX news) I think it was about the time Married with Children was on as the 'normal family'.
To: Texas Mom
I too enjoyed
The Cosby Show and his stand-up comedy.
But a fictional family should not be held up as a standard to attain and strive for. REAL families should be.
And you are free to agree with Cosby on this issue as I am to disagree with him and you.
But when you start to hold up a racist, unfaithful spouse, as someone to admire I have to question your judgement.
Cosbys private life in no way reflects or mirrors his public life and public pronouncements.
To: Texas Mom
I thought B.C. owned up to the affair - didn't he admit it?
To: Quix
RAH RAH RAH.
It's called reality. And just because I happen to point out that the Osbournes are probably more representative of today's families DOES NOT mean I condone such behavior. Have you even watched the show? I have. And outside of the unnecessary swearing, Ozzy and his wife are trying to have their kids not make the same mistakes they have- like every other parent out there.
Life isn't all Ozzie and Harriet, you know. As much as we'd like it to be, it simply is not reality. All we can do is work toward making our current reality better. And, if you don't like the Osbournes, the best way you can do that is to simply not watch.
