ex-KLA surrender in Kosovo serious crime probe
PRISTINA, Yugoslavia, June 19 (Reuters) - Two Kosovo Albanian men surrendered on Wednesday to United Nations police who are investigating former separatist guerrillas for crimes committed in the Yugoslav province.
They joined four others arrested on Tuesday by investigators pursuing cases of illegal detention and serious assault, in which "most of the victims remain missing," according to a police statement.
An eyewitness told Reuters one of the two was Daut Haradinaj, a former commander in the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and its civilian successor, the Kosovo Protection Corps.
He is the brother of Ramush Haradinaj, a former KLA regional commander who is now a leading Kosovo politician.
Western officials have long insisted they will crack down on ex-guerrillas guilty of crimes in Kosovo, even though many enjoy considerable power.
Kosovo's U.N. administration said one of the men turned himself in at a police station in the capital, Pristina, and the other surrendered in the western city of Pec.
They were held as part of the same investigation which led to the arrest of four others in a major operation on Tuesday, U.N. press officer Andrea Angeli said. The United Nations would not reveal the identity of the men.
U.N. police have said the investigation focuses on serious crimes committed against other ethnic Albanians in June 1999, in the aftermath of the Kosovo conflict.
Kosovo has been under U.N. rule since NATO bombing in 1999.
The Kosovo Protection Corps, a Western-inspired civil emergency force set up after the war to provide a new role for guerrillas who fought the government, has denied persistent allegations of links to organised crime.
The Corps has accused U.N. police of mistreating the four officers who were arrested on Tuesday, charges widely published by Kosovo's Albanian newspapers.
"We reject the criticism," Angeli said. "The arrests were carried out according to the highest international standards."
Daut Haradinaj was suspended from his post in the protection corps last July after he appeared on a U.S. blacklist of people suspected of trying to destabilise the Balkans.
Earlier this year, U.N. police arrested three ex-guerrillas on suspicion of committing war crimes against other Albanians. The arrests sparked protests among the local population.

Clinton & his HumWarriors allied us with the KLA jihadists. He funded, supplied, promoted, and borrowed the USAF to help the KLA achieve their zenophobic aims. Since the HumWarriors unleashed the KLA upon the civilian population in June 1999, the civilian murder rate has risen fourfold.
At least GWB is trying to slowly undo Clinton's damages. So far, virtually the entire top leadership of the KLA has been arrested or cashiered for crimes against Albanians the very people the KLA said they were defending
GWB may be moving too slowly, but at least he is moving in the right direction.

As things like intelligence capabilities were established between both military and civilian organizations in 1999 information started to trickle and in time has became a substantial flood. A lot of the Albanian population in Kosovo do not agree with what the KLA/Organized crime are doing. The UNMIK police have a number of heavy weights among the contingents like the Royal Ulster Constabulary, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, German and Austrian Police, English police and some very capable contingents from the former east block. So with all this talent and time to get to know who is who in the zoo this was bound to happen. This was the agenda once NATO and the UN were established in Kosovo, the agenda that I knew, after all Kosovo is a good section of the Balkan road where the Afghan heroin flows through.

This was the agenda once NATO and the UN were established in KosovoDon't put too much faith in NATO, the agressors, or UN 'tribunal' justice. That we now know by Judge May's 'kangaroo tribunal'.
Milosevic had 'hundreds' of these criminals in jail, only to be released by his political opponents to get Powell's approval to get 'cash' flowing to Serbia. Go figure.

You left out the fact that NATO/UNMIK are actively arresting KLA members suspected of War Crimes in Kosovo. That was my mission in Kosovo working on the KLA. I guess you don't put much faith in this either?

Now the horse is out of the barn and the KLA is in
charge. Milosevic's Serbia was handling it better than
NATO or the 'corrupted' UN ever will. We should have
allied with him in this war, as we should with Russia,
Israel and the Phillipines.

The KLA are in charge? I' don't think so because the independence endorsement by NATO/UN is not happening and Kosovo will remain a province of Serbia, end of story. Now if independence is a #1 priority for Thaci and his KLA thuglings why I ask, have the so called all mighty KLA not pulled the leashes of the NATO/UN big dogs to put them in line? The reason why not my dear duck is simply that you have not evaluated the playing field very well at all. The KLA are a rabble of former criminals tied in with the Albanian mob and the powers to be know this. As a matter of fact this was known back in 1999 when I was working on the KLA. I will say one thing they are not stupid but criminals never the less. You give them to much credit. Milosivic is responsible for War Crimes or he would not have had thugs like Arkan and Captain Dragon doing his ethnic cleansing for him. The KLA are responsible for their own cleansing operations both amongst their own people and the remaining Serbs. Those on both sides are answering for what they have done. Time to come clean with a little help from some friends.

The KLA are in charge? I' don't think so because the independence endorsement by NATO/UN is not happening and Kosovo will remain a province of Serbia, end of story. The Albanian Muslims are now a super majority and they are 'armed'. 5+ occupying countries in Kosovo may be garrisoned there, but IMO the power has been forfeited to the people (Abanians). A token 'arrest' doesn't change that, the KLA has depth.
Kosovo is now a 'province' of Serbia in name only. What control does Belgrade have in Kosovo now? Milosevic had that control but NATO/UN changed all that, and they will never undo the damage. Eventually Serbia might.
Milosivic is responsible for War Crimes or he would not have had thugs like Arkan and Captain Dragon doing his ethnic cleansing for him
BTW, how many 'troops did Arkan and Dragon have? Do you consider their scrimages with the KLA as 'ethnic cleansing? Has the 'kangaroo tribunal' included their activities in Milosevics' indictment?
You didn't see the forrest because of the trees. You may be too involved, with the 'thugs' that sided with terroists, to be objective. You were in the playing field while others saw the whole game.

Dear Duck you are an amateur and I believe you are lost in the woods. The KLA are heavily involved with organized crime i.e. the heroin trade but if they are so mighty why have they not started to target NATO/UN personnel and with such great force that you claim they have simply done something.????? Without NATO/UN there would be no stability but civil war and the KLA know this because they would be on the loosing end. Finally make some sense duck?
BTW, how many 'troops did Arkan and Dragon have? Do you consider their scrimages with the KLA as 'ethnic cleansing? Has the 'kangaroo tribunal' included their activities in Milosevics' indictment? <\b>
A real keener like you has already forgotten the Bosnian conflict where the word ethnic cleansing was introduced to the world. Do you consider Arkans exploits as mere scrimmages during that conflict as well? I was there in 1992 dear duck and had occasion to see some of Arkans tigers live, very scary people but what would you know about that you have probably never left Wisconsin. Probably have never served your country have you? Have you ever seen a corps after several weeks of rotting in a field? I think not.
You didn't see the forest because of the trees. You may be too involved, with the 'thugs' that sided with terrorists, to be objective. You were in the playing field while others saw the whole game.<\b>
No duck I was part of the apparatus that controlled the game. And this game takes time to develop unlike your naïve point of view. You call your countrymen thugs, dont be saying that to loud considering what has been going in the world these days. You may offend one of those so called thugs who has lost someone over there and most of all who may take offence and rearrange your attitude very severely. Your attempt at credibility is very pathetic.

Why should they, they have what they want, Kosovo en toto. They are now targeting Macedonia and then a chunk of Greece. Thanks to NATO and your help.

You skipped answering this so I'll repeat it. Questioning my service and wordly exposure is a 'cheap' attack. What would it prove if I had more of both than you? BTW we do have the Serb-Croatian Hall in Milwaukee and more than the average number of them in Wisconsin. Fine people.

You fail to see what the results would have been without my help and that of NATO Mr. Duck. What would your guess be, a very pleasant civil war which would have included Macedonia as well. The tens of thousands of dead with Russia coming in to level the playing field because of the flood of Islamic extremists pouring into Kosovo from Albania like what happened in Bosnia. You have again forgotten the lesson of Bosnia which was the reason for intervention in Kosovo. It would have been a blood bath and thank god it turned out the way it did without your help. You remain an amateur.

BTW you would have had a whole different picture in 1992 Bosnia while the Serbs and Croats where killing each other. You would have been very lonely at your tea party in the burned out community hall. Appreciate where you live Mr. Duck because life is very cheap in the Balkans then and now and I suspect you would not make it very long without your hot daily shower.

No duck I was part of the apparatus that controlled the game. If you were, you helped the Clinton administration disgrace Amerina. If you were in the service I could understand, but there's no excuse to crow about such a 'blunder'.
And this game takes time to develop unlike your naïve point of view.
It's not a 'game' when 'bombs' are falling for 78 days!
You call your countrymen thugs,
Not all, just a few, like you.

You can't mean that, simmer down my friend, surely you don't deny freedom of speech? And you shouldn't make threats, you're not in Kosovo.
Your attempt at credibility is very pathetic.
Thanks, another cheap shot.
