One of the worst flights I can remember was being stuck in the middle seat between two people who each required a seat belt extender to buckle the belt around their middle.

I once was on a flight with a woman who was so large, she required TWO seatbelt extenders. I'm not kidding. Her "husband" (I think that's what he was) could've probably fit in a half of a seat, he was so skinny.

I looked at the pair and thought "jack sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean" ... I kid you not.

It's about time. If you take up two seats, then you ought to pay for two seats - whether the plane is full or not. Same for movie theatres.

These people think they're being "discriminated" against because they're fat? Well, how about me? I fit in ONE seat and I pay for ONE seat. Why don't I get TWO seats for the price of one like these people do? I'm the one truly being discriminated against.

Dang, did you and I actually fly together?

I will say this once again: GET LARGER SEATS!

Even if I am that skinny guy, I am sick and tired of being treated like cattle. For the last 6 years, each and every time I walk into an airline, I MOOO....

I am old enough to remember when you would dress up all fancy for an airline flight, and the passengers were treated with respect.

I guess we could share "fat person on a plane" stories all day here. I fly SW all the time. I'm not someone who requires a lot of pampering on a flight, however, I do get irritated at someone encroaching my space.

A couple of years ago, I was already boarded sitting by the window with the two seats next to me empty. I saw a woman starting to board that was so huge she had to get forward momentum to squeeze past each row of seats and walked with a cane. I saw her eyeing my row. With more audacity than I usually have, I stopped a normal sized person in front of her and invited them to have a seat.

I have no problem fitting into one seat, my knees however catch hell when the fool in the seat ahead tries to let the seat all the way back. Maybe those jerks should pay for two seats as well-their own and the one directly behind.

I have family members and friends who will be charged for two seats if this insulting rule is allowed to stand. I'll bet that in pleasently plump America today, few there are who have no family members or friends who will be subjected to this abuse. I resent money hungry creeps being allowed to sh*t on people for being over weight

It seems that discrimination and bias of one kind or the other will always be with us.Instutionalized Racial, ethnic and many other prejudices are no longer condoned, but bashing smokers has become a popular pass time with the Federal Government and everyone else, looks like portly people are becoming fair game too.

I won't fly on any airline that treats any of it's customers so shabbily-they can have my seat.
