June 19, 2002 -- Lizzie Grubman's prosecutors are considering a plea deal that would put the p.r. princess behind bars for 30 days for mowing down 16 people with her Mercedes SUV outside a Southampton nightclub last summer.

Although no formal proposal has been made, lawyers for some of the 16 victims say a new prosecutor has asked them if they would agree to the deal - under which Grubman would get the jail time and serve five years' probation.

The more money you got, the more "justice" you can buy.

Criminally reckless use of a deadly weapon, 16 wounded, 30 days in jail. Something wrong here.

I read an article the other day, saying the prosecutor was talking to victims to see what they wanted to be done, that is should they accept a plea-bargin or go to court.

Now I see this article today talking about a new prosecutor on the case, who talked to all the victims again and has their support.

I wonder why the 1st prosecutor left?

Come now, it says p.r. princess right there. She is our BETTER. American Royalty. How would it look if The Great Lizzie Grubman was treated like a simple proletariat? 30 days in a minimum security country club with daytime release would still be too much.

Those 16 carbon blobs should be glad just to have had contact with a vehicle operated by someone cut from such cloth.

Grubman also would have to admit to the judge that she committed a crime and a reckless act, which would speed up and simplify the victims' civil personal-injury lawsuits against Grubman.

This is the key, MONEY! The lawyers talk the victims into this settlement so the lawyers er, ah, I mean the victims, get their money easier and sooner.

so twenty hours per person you run over is fair??

I guess Gucci could not make one of those ankle monitoring devices that would not clash with her wardrobe. How can amnesty International and the ACLU let this young woman face such horrendous time incarcerated? This may affect her social season.

Let her get her 30 days and then have the lawyers bankrupt her. And then let her try to get insurance for driving with us peons.

Hm. If I was one of the victims and was told, "Let her keep her job so that she can pay you 10 times the money that she could if we put her in jail for 5 years", I might go for it too....

But if I was one of the victims, one of parts of the deal would have me driving that Mercedes SUV. Rotate it around, one month for each of the victims.

This gal needs to be completely re conditioned and sensitized. She should be forced to wear clothes purchased only from Target or Wal Mart for the next 5 years while on probation.

I Think That It's High Time That A Waiting Period For Motor-Vehicle Purchases Is Considered!!

I'm sure their lawyers assured them that they will all have enough money to buy their own Mercedes SUVs by the time they finish with her.

If I was lying there with a broken leg, I'd go the route that would lead me to the most money. If I insisted on more jailtime for her, I'd only wind up paying for it with my tax dollars.

She's going to be slammed for millions and millions. Poor dear's going to have to drive a lowly Volvo.

True enough. But, understand. I don't want a SUV. I want her SUV, the one she hit me with. I'd probably even send her a picture of me behind the wheel in it. And I'll load a bunch of Boy Scouts in it and get it all crapped up driving them through the mud at camp....

They agreed.

If I were a lawyer for a victim, I would agree too. I don't care how much time she is in jail. Rather, I want her to admit her guilt, because once she does that, the civil case against her becomes a piece of cake. Then, it's not a question of whether she's laible, but only about how much she's liable for.

I don't think Lizzie Borden even got 30 days.

You hit me with your car deliberately, and it's personal. I want a personal remedy; money's necessary, but not sufficient.

Oh I agree. I hope you didn't think my response was sarcastic.

They should get her house too. Let her live in the maid's apartment.
