What I obviously did not make clear was the fact the military, by design, is not to be used in enforcing federal laws and regulations internally.Should Mexico or Canada attempt to invade the USA by means of agressive force, you can bet the military will respond.But the invasion we are currently enjoying is the direct result of national civilian political policy.
I am not quite ready for this country to experience a military coup.I also object to the ignorant politicians who have put our military in "peacekeeping" roles throughout the world.
There is absolutely nothing more the DOD can do in regards our land borders unless they are given free reign to "secure" the perimeter.Our soldiers are not policemen or border guards.No one will be given Miranda rights.If and/or when they are ordered to seal our borders,we will all be under marshall law.Some want that to be the case now.
While I believe Tancredo is on the right track,in this particular little political posture,as a veteran, I find him deeply offensive and unconstructive.
