They're (LAPD) already beginning to close down some streets in and about LA and will be on tactical alert in a few hours.

This morning I thought the absence of Agoos and Hejduk would make a difference, but Spain was down a player and still beat Ireland!
If I had to bet, and after Spain/Ireland I am financially embarassed, I'd bet on Mexico solely because their coach is one heckuva' motivator. But I wouldn't bet much.
Best to both teams! And may the game be injury free, fair, and a lot of fun for all!

Call it "addition by subtraction", we're better off without Agoos.

I'm not a soccer fan but after reading about what this game means to our Mexican-American countrymen, all I can say is "LET'S GO YANKS !!!"
To: Chi-townChief
LOL. To heck with them, think what it means to American fans...

Because of the large Mexican-American population in California, Arizona and Texas, the Mexicans often have had the backing of the crowd wherever they play the U.S. team. Here in San Diego, we can go a whole year without incident at Qualcomm Stadium, but all it takes is one Mexico soccer match to have fans invading the pitch, running away from the security guards to the delight of their compatriots (a sort of microcosmic illegals vs. migra confrontation in a stadium setting), and fans opposing security by throwing trash and beer on them as they chase the pitch invaders. If you're a USA fan at one of these games, you'll probably get doused, too.

Cops in the Southern Calif. area are on high alert tonight, especially in areas heavily infested with Mexican illegal aliens (Huntington Park, East L.A., Santa Ana, Ontario, Wilmington, Pomona, San Fernando, etc.). Huntington Park was the home of a near riot the last time the Mexican team won anything. That dump is comprised of about 80% illegals. In fact the current incompetent U.S. treasurer (
Rosario Marin) was mayor of that seething rat trap not long ago. It could be a hot time in the old town tonight :-D

Does anyone have any idea why people go post game crazy and riot? Drunk or what?

Soccer Fans are stupid as are the players and sports geeks who announce the games, all American games are far superior. Anyone who cares enough about soccer to care one way or the other has no life along with no intelligence!

Drunk. Not just Mexicans. I was lucky to barely escape drunk obscene disgusting soccer punks three years ago in Edinburgh. They were all local lads. Painted blue and white on their faces, wearing kilts the plaid of their favorite team and took great delight in drunkenly knocking each other down in public in downtown Edinburgh, thus displaying lack of underwear.
Not sure of the psychology, but the same happened in Chicago and Los Angeles after NBA victories.
Perhaps it's a misguided assumption that all is forgiven for true fans? And yet other serious fans despise this behavior.

Then there are the rabid zealots, illogical, impolite, probably with an I.Q. less than hat size, making assinine generalizations of infantile merit, as just demonstrated here recently.
Give a dork like that a few beers, and presto!

Drunk or what?Drunk. Stupid. Arrogant. Asking for it. They may just get it this time around. We can certainly hope.
To: KirklandJunction
I have seen some of it on the news, mostly it looked like college kids, and they stay drunk for four years, lol.

U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A! GO YANKS!!! If I didn't have my flag up all the time, I would have put it up for this morning's game.
Oh...and let's send up prayers for safety to all the riot police in the heavily Mexican areas of our country.
