Mild earthquake shakes Puget Sound region
Sunday, June 16, 2002... THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
BREMERTON -- A 3.7-magnitude earthquake centered about 11 miles southwest of this Kitsap County community gave the Puget Sound region a gentle shake Sunday morning.
There were no reports of any damage or injuries at the closest community, the town of Belfair at the northeast tip of Hood Canal.
The temblor's epicenter was nearly 10 miles beneath the Earth's surface, according to preliminary automated measurements taken by the University of Washington's seismology lab.
