This is silly. The sickness in the "gay pride" movement is the notion that the only thing that determines who you are is your sexual orientation. It doesn't matter whether you are good at your profession, an upright citizen, pillar of your local community, play the piano, write poetry or essays, speak foreign languages, travel, play bridge, act in a local Gilbert and Sullivan production, sing badly in public, play tennis or sail or any of the other 100 Zillion things that go into making one a human being. No the only thing you are measured by is weather you get off with a partner of the same or the opposite sex.
This "straight pride" parade only falls into the same trap.
I agree with you. Those who define themselves by their sexuality are just shallow people. To waste an afternoon in a parade celebrating my "heterosexuality" is as pointless as marching in a parade celebrating the fact that I have brown hair or blue eyes.
These people need to get a grip.
