trees on desert don't have leaves
I guess you need water for leaves
instead of leaves, palo verdes have long thin green tendrils
(picture the ''icicles'' you throw at Christmas trees)
but in spring they put out beautiful yellow flowers
they don't grow tall, they are umbrella shaped
