I did a search and didn't find this one. Home schoolers should have a field day with this one...

Only in New York.
How much do you want to bet that the teachers' union fights his dismissal?

Headlines: "Nunez sweeps like Lakers!"

Better yet, bet he's a Union Steward.
To: thefactor
Wait; wait; don't tell me...
1. He cannot be fired (union rules).
2. He is paid somewhere between $ 40 and $ 90 an hour (union rules)
3. His lawyer will get him off (paid for by the union).
4. He's a life-long Democrat.
What have I left out?

"I send my son to school thinking he's safe and look what happens," said Martinez This would be funny if it weren't so sad. ANYBODY who really thinks that their children are safe at school is NOT living in the real world. Now then, with THAT said, I can't help but wonder if the teacher just "snapped" or if he was, perchance, set upon himself by the majority of the class for attempting to break up the "crayon fight". Things that make you go hmmm....

5. He is a felon.
6. He is an undocumented alien.
7. "Due diligence"(LOL) in his hiring eliminated dozens of good people.

I'll say one thing about this incident, the next time these children are misbehaving in a classroom and the teacher tells them to sit down and shut up, what do you want to bet they sit down and shut up!

""These are first-grade children," said Daisy Gutierrez, the school's PTA president. "I can't imagine what made him snap." What's a childless woman doing as president of the PTA?
To: KentuckyWoman
Clearly, the solution to this problem is to ban brooms. Or, at least, require a 15 day waiting period and background check before you can get one.

Bump for home-schooling. My cousin home-schools her three boys. The oldest one is so well spoken and knowledgable, I sometimes feel like I'm on the losing end of a debate with him. And he's only 9!

8. He tried to vote for Al Gore for president
9. He actually voted for Lyndon LaRouche -- twice

"What's a childless woman doing as president of the PTA?" It's okay, she is gay and represents a diverse example for the children. (None of the parents are gay so.....)
