Taiwan jet twice lost altitude

BEIJING, China (CNN) --Radar data from Chinese authorities show that the doomed China Airlines CI611 flight bound for Hong Kong experienced two abnormal drops in altitude before it crashed last weekend.

The information came from Liu Yajun, a traffic control expert at the Beijing-based Chinese Civil Aviation Association, who told Chinese-run Hong Kong daily Wen Wei Po about the sudden and as yet unexplained drops experienced by the Boeing 747-200.

Yeah, funny how in Taiwan information is reported as it becomes known, whereas here, we still don't get to see the security cam tape showing AA587 in flight. Just keep telling yourself we are the most free people on Earth.

Uh Huh, at least their ATC's say the rear half went backwards. We just discount all our observers and tell them they must be wrong, it couldn't be a missile! There are missiles that can go to 30,000 feet. Wonder how hard it is to get a fishing boat in those waters undetected...
