Wow - a liberal actually gets struck by the political correctness they claim to love. Such fun to watch them scream when it's their ox getting gored. Think she even comes close to "getting it" yet as to the hypocrisy of her party? Nah...

I think this is known as the law of unintended consequences.

I can't believe this is Anna Quindlen. Get ready for it guys, ice cubes in Hell, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria! I read an Anna Quindlen column and didn't want to hurl.

Please excuse this short interruption. As you know, the fundraiser is in full swing. We need your help. Please stop by the fundraising thread and give it a bump. And if you have a few bucks, we'd really appreciate a contribution to keep this site running. IMO, it's the best site on the internet for news and analysis.

Also known as the "it is my ox that is being gored, so cut it out" syndrome

I had to keep reading the title of this column to see that yes, it was Anna Quindlen who wrote it. She writes beautifully, I just don't like what she has to say most of the time. I have read a couple of her books, she is a good author, but too PC for my tastes.

In the Singer excerpt on New York’s Regents exam, which was about growing up a Jew in prewar Poland, all references to Jews and Poles were excised.

A remarkable feat, to be sure.

Not at all a Quindlen fan, but she got this one right. There is hope.
