This was a raging fire when the Klintoons were in office. Why is this now a Bush problem? Where was this "great concern" for the past 8 years? Now, all of a sudden, we have another crisis?

There are a lot of politicians who don't WANT this cleaned up. They WANT young girls to remain at the disposal of older men. I learned this recently in my state when we raised the AOC for sex from 14 to 16. The main objection was from male politicians age 35+.

In addition, the military doesn't WANT this cleaned up in Asia because without forced or coerced prostitution and trafficking there would not be enough women volunteering to service soldiers.

The host countries do not WANT this cleaned up because it brings lots of hard currency into their economy from both the military and private sex tourism. They are not to interested in developing diversified industries and business where women and men can work to make decent wages. The poorer people remain the more they can be expoited and manipulated. Abject poverty is the "means" to reaching the goal of "supply" in the system. In this case girls (and boys too for the burgeoning homosexual pedophilia tourism trade) exploited to attract sex tourism to their country. With the rate of population growth there is a never ending supply of "commodity" to exploit and make money off of. And with no social services to speak of the "commodity" will never be an infrastructure strain on the economic system, the "commodity will just die an early death and get out of the way.

Each year, millions of women and girls are sold into sexual slavery worldwide. Why isn't the Bush State Department doing more to end their nightmare?

If we assume we have the right to enforce our human beliefs on other nations then surely other nations should have a right to enforse their beliefs on us. The authors of this report are demanding that Bush take control and make the world in your image.

Sexual abuse of females is a moral issue in nations. It is allowed when the population of that nation does not see it as a moral wrong. It the people of those nations were Christains, they would not sell women into sexual slavery.

If you ask me why Bush permits it, then I ask you why does your JESUS permit it? Why are not the followers of Jewus out there converting the lost so they do not sell women into slaver slavery. You certainly don't think that Christianity can stop evil or you would appeal to JESUS and not George Bush to fix it.

You obviouly think Bush is more powerful than JESUS.

How do you plan to appeal to Dubya? Something like this?

Heavenly Bush who art in Washington
   ...............etc. etc. etc.
Get real.

If you have no faith or belief that your God can stop this evil, how do you think Bush can succeed.

TRUE Christains put their faith in God. You have put yours in Bush.

Thanks to the slow confirmation process for new Bush appointees, the first so-called TIP (Trafficking in Persons) Report, issued in July 2001, was written largely by Clinton holdovers.

And they are trying to blame Bush for this...Hey Dems...haven't you heard that when you are pointing the finger of blame, you have three fingers pointing right back at you?

What's more amusing is the same people that biatch and moan about more Govt in their lives, want more Govt in their lives.

But I think you hit on a point; these folks are looking for a Messiah. And when they get a leader who fits their expectations, they will follow him. Prematurely.

Several that use Christian tags in their monickers on Fr...are actually Dems, doing a fine job of masquerading as Conservatives.

Excuses. You just don't want anything done on this issue.

"Sexual abuse of females is a moral issue in nations. It is allowed when the population of that nation does not see it as a moral wrong. It the people of those nations were Christains, they would not sell women into sexual slavery. "

Wrong. The Philipines is a country that is majority Christian and sex slavery and forced child prostitution is a big problem there, exacerbated by our past and present US Military prescence (who's members are a majority Christian). Also people from majority "christian" nations travel to certain areas of the world precisely for cheap sex with trafficked and enslaved girls/women (and boys). Trafficked/enslaved individuals keeps the cost very low for the buyer, an effective marketing tool. Also people from majority "christian" nations travel to these areas for sex with adolescents and children (which is difficult for them to do in their home country).

What you are in effect doing is setting up a framework which says the problem cannot be eradicated unless people are "christians" which, of course is not possible in our lifetimes to make everyone "christian" so the framework set up essentially means the problem cannot be solved and people must continue to suffer. It is a defeatist attitude.

Just wanted to bump that statement. Agree 100%!

And since when did the Government tell these women to marry men from places like Saudi Arabia. Doesn't take much reading to know how some of these countries treat their women but yet these women married these people from foreign countries like Saudi, had kids, and now want the US Government to get involved. I don't think so!

Can we agree that men who pay for sex with minors aren't practicing Christians regardless of wehter they come from a 'Christian' country?

Part of the issue here is that in those countries due to their culture, parents are willing to sell their children into slavery. THis is a terrible condition one can't legislate against

Part of the allure of prostution with children in these countries is the belief on the part of the patrons that sex with children reduces their chances of getting Aids.

There isn't a lot the US can do about this.

Thanks for the ping. My position on these child sex slavery issues has never changed. I remain adamantly opposed.

Well, I don't believe that for one second. There IS a lot the US can do about this. For one they can forbid US Miliatary personell from these places under threat of prosecution. Another thing we can do is put heavy pressure on counties to abolish the practice of human trafficking and sex slavery especially of children. We have a lot of power with trade/aid agreements etc. to put pressure on these countries (Philipines and Thailand and Korea are some of the worst) to put an end to this practice.

To me saying "nothing can be done" just means more people who don't give a damn about these children and enslaved human beings.

YOu admit that JESUS could not stop in your lifetime what you claim Bush could stop in less than two terms of office.

How loud do you want to scream who you think is more powerful than Jesus

YOU CLAIM THAT CHRIST IS POWERLESS IN YOUR LIFE TIME TO CONTVERT ENOUGH PEOPLE TO STOP SEXUAL ABUSE IN THE WORLD.

YOu say calling on God to fix a terrible thing is the wrong way to go. Because GOD could not fix it in your.............

I Take that back! Your post says that people save people. No wonder it can't be done in your life time.

YOU DON"T BELIEVE IN JESUS OR GOD. YOU BELIEVE IN YOU.

THAT IS A HELL OF A BELIEF and it will take you there.!

Okay ..... so we've established that you're an extreme whacko who can't carry on a cogent discussion.

The problem is not that they're aren't enough Christians, the problem is that there is sexual slavery. We need to attack THAT problem.

What you are doing is setting up the premise that only Christians can solve a complex social problems and that problems can't be solved unless or until everyone is a Christian and believe in Chrisitan values. That's hogwash and a smokescreen. We have to solve problem NOW. People are being exploited NOW. Everyone can push their elected representative to do something about this problem NOW.

The question is will they? Or will they hide and do nothing but make lame excuses why we can't do anything.

Also, Mr. Tator, you don't know what my personal religious beliefs are. You just fabricated stuff in that post. The fact that you apparently have no qualms about fabricating what I believe instead of making a cogent point shows that you are not averse to LYING, not a very Christian trait I must say.

Why is the entire world seems to think that George W. Bush should settle all the problems of the universe. Why don't some of these countries get off their butts and settle some of their own problems. He's the President of the United states not the WORLD.
