According to John Ashcroft, that is, how the republican attorney general sees and decrees it, the two have ties, are said to have ties, as the republican attorney general sees it, to Al-Qaeda, a group the government believes to be a quote "terrorist organization". In respone to the adminsitration's obvious and blatant politicization of the war, Tom Daschle said today that he is "troubled".
