Country singer Toby Keith has some choice words for Peter Jennings.
Toby Keith says the producer of an ABC 4th of July TV special rescinded an offer to have the country singer perform his current hit after the show's host, World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings, heard the song and vetoed it.

Me too. And you can switch country stations here in Central PA and hear the song nearly any time of day or night. It's the most requested song the capitol area has had in a long time.
"As soon as we could see out of our big black eye
We lit up your world like the Fourth of July."
D*** straight.
Shalom.
I was a country fan when young, then moved away when it started being more about sex than r&r is. However, after 9/11 I started tuning into the country stations because the rock stations all stopped playing the patriotic songs too soon. The country artists know what patriots want to hear. Michael Jackson's "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning", I'm not sure who recorded "Where the Stars and Stripes, and the Eagle Fly", Brooks & Dunn "Only in America", and now Toby with "The Angry American."
Some of it is still as bad as the reason I tuned away, but since then the rock stations have all sounded like insipid tributes to narcissism to these old ears.
Shalom.
I not only believe he says that, but I believe he knows Jesus.
The reason "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning" won't make it on any network anytime soon is because it is a stinging statement that all religions are not the same. It indicts Islam as being radically different from Christianity and then judges Islam as inferior, not by saying anything about Islam but by touting Christianity.
How un-PC can you get.
I love the song.
Shalom.
Same reason I do - it's in the hotel rooms. When FOX is there, I watch that.
Man's on the road a lot, you know.
Shalom.
Oh, yeah. I forgot to say that if he watched FOX more he might be able to tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran. CNN dumbs down everything.
Shalom.
KLOVE has a station here, and we are monthly supporters of that fine station, although I personally would like to have a "Air-1" or "CHristian Pirate Radio" out let here, so I could get some more Rock style music.

Yet, it's good to hear that you listen to Contemporary Christian music. In Atlanta, we have four Contemporary Christian Stations. All four are independent, and I believe two of them survive merely on donations.
There's good news. The number of CCM stations is spreading like wildfire. It's hard to find a major city that does not have one anymore. A few years ago, only a few cities carried the format. So there is a lot of good news.
I used to listen to the alternative rock, but I cannot stand to listen to it anymore. Most of it sounds aweful, and I constantly am thinking, "I can't believe I liked this". Perhaps it was spiritual maturing, or perhaps it was me merely growing up and liking more adult formats (I'm 25), I don't know. However, CCM and Country is about all I listen to, with the exceptions of some adult contemporary songs. Furthermore, I'll listen to classical every now and then.
Thanks for the positive response.
I think you mean Alan Jackson.
Yes KLOVE is a Syndicated station that uses Satellite broadcast down to local "FM repeater stations" to carry their signal to affliates all over the nation.
Shalom.
Sheryl Crow is still performing. How's that new song of her's go again?
"My Friend the Communist..."
Hmmmm... I wonder if she's performing that one.
While that may be true (I'm not challenging you) I've heard hip-hop blaring out of more than one car as it passes by, and I can't imagine how anyone ever listens to that, or can tell the difference between any two songs.
Maybe that's part of hitting middle-age.
Shalom.
Carolyn
