Yeah, sometimes life can be an iffy proposition, and termination can be permanent.

I put 220 rounds through a Bryco .380 without a single malfunction. Accuracy was pretty crummy, and the gun's ergonomics 'bit' (too bad, since it actually fit comfortably in my hand otherwise) but not quite as junky as expected. The Bryco and Jennings stuff was pretty junky before the leftists in California passed the SB15 handgun test bill. Bryco and Jennings had to improve enough to pass the test or lose the market. They chose to improve and still kept the price affordable. Now they produce acceptable stuff. People like Lockyer are hopping mad that the SB15 approach resulted in better handguns instead of destroying the market. The new ploy is to expose manufacturers and retailers to civil liability suits by stripping away the protection in California state law.

I thought it seemed like a decent design except for the spot where the slide bit me, though I would have liked to have seen some sort of back-up trigger safety.

The certified Model for California is the M38-CA/Zinc Diecast with 2.75 inch barrel. If it is missing the "-CA" model marking, it was produced before SB-15 took effect. The pre-SB-15 models can only be sold between individuals using an FFL as a "transfer" agent. Once an FFL takes an uncertified handgun into his possession, it has to go out of state for resale.

I haven't seen the new models. I have seen the new line of CA approved S&W revolvers. They all carry the Safe-T-Hammer integral lock. The fit, finish and action were not up to the same quality as the ones manufactured prior to the addition of the lock. That's disappointing.

The author's ability to weave class warfare and gun control into a single article is downright astonishing. She almost has me hating rich people. Unfortunately, my desire to be one someday will probably win over in the long run.

I guess Joan Truman Smith would have felt better if the "perp" had used a Glock.

The Wendy's gun cost $169.95 in the store and was resold for $250, but a weapon like that normally fetches $500 on the streetProof that criminals regard the firearm as a "cost of doing business".

Definitely. Unbelieveable the amount of cognitive dissonance continually present in supposedly functional members of our society...
