The short short item on p B3 of the WashTimes today (not on the web) says:

". . .

"Investigators yesterday found another 12-inch bone in a section of the park previously searched by cadaver dogs. The bone was turned over to the medical examiner.

". . ."

I think Wecht just said it was unlikely animals ran off with the bones and then later brought them back. Is that incorrect?

I think you didn't understand the good doctor. I think the bone was missed/overlooked by investigators, too. (b/c it was somewhat embedded in the soil, and did not appear to have been recently moved.

Then what did you mean by taphonomy?

You seem to be claiming to have deduced how long the corpse was in Rock Creek (13 months) from the facts already released re: the crime scene. I say such a conclusion is still unwarranted.

The cover of undisturbed leaves. If the body was placed there, it was placed there before the leaves were off the trees. The leaves didn't fall in April 2002.

The placement of the bones, the condition of the bones. The condition and placement of her clothes, in relation to her remains.

Levy may not have died there (although I think there are indicators that she did)and been placed in the park, but she did decompose there.

I'd say you aren't paying attention and don't know how too look things up.

It is not likely this body was moved. From the examination of the scene by Gretta V.S. last week it is clear that moving a body up there would be very difficult if not impossible for one man or even two. She likely walked up there under her own power and was killed on the spot.

I looked up taphonomy, it relates to the study of fossilization. If by it you meant leaf placement, well, that's fine.

If there was a report that the leaves covering the tibia were undisturbed, I missed it. It seems to be animal or weather (rainwater washing leaves downhill) could have obscured the boned with leaves.

Nothing has been reported about the "condition" of the bones beyond their location.

The only reports I've seen about the "placement" of her clothes was the third-hand account in the Enquirer. A follow-up in the WashPost indicated the tights were knotted, but not where.

You are soooo bad!

Your work is so good, it makes me wonder if any pix we see from our government is true?

"The twisted wire, looped in a figure-eight with a knot tied in one of the loops, was found June 6 by two detectives working for the Levy family. "

I'd say by that description that someone's hands were tied up with the wire. The knotted tights previously found may have tied her legs together.

Either or both (esp the wire) could also be used to hold together a skeleton.

I wasn't thinking that gruesome, but that's another good possibility.

The DC police reported today that private parties searching the Rock Creek Park area found several human bones, blood-stained clothes, an abandoned automobile, six hand-guns, a knife, two assault rifles, a box cutter, a wallet, a used condom, a "This is Condit Country" campaign flyer, an address book, an envelope of anthrax, Levy's ring and keys, photos, a stack of marked bills, a videotape, a signed confession, and other seemingly important items. However, the police indicated that "these are not clues at this time" and that they "didn't know how these items got here".

In a formal statement to the media, the police said: "Oops! Guess we missed a few things when we searched the area the first couple times for, uh... what was her name again?" When asked about how this reflects on the DC police, a spokeswoman said, "We have not determined what has happened", and that "if a mistake was made, we don't how it happened."

Congressman Gary Condit (D-CA) was also seen in the park yesterday. He was jumping up and down and waving his hands frantically while shouting "Over here, I did it, I did it." Eventually he was asked to leave by police community-service personnel. In a televised interview, a police spokesman said, "Mr. Condit, who is not a suspect at this time, was attracting a lot of media attention. He was asked to exit the area for his own personal safety and to preserve the integrity of a possible crime scene." Besides, we can't waste our time babysitting media celebrity has-beens when we're looking for donuts uh, ... a killer."

From the names "Gary Condit, Chandra Levy" it is very trivial to extract "Chiang." One can also extract both "Dayton" and "Lynch" with no overlap. What's in a name?

Oh, to use up every letter, I can still get:

1. Dayton, Lynch, rig cadaver."

Gravid! Dayton, Lynch care!

Gravid! Dayton, Lynch race.

Dayton, Lynch vie. Card, rag.

Dayton, Lynch, acrid grave.

Dayton, Lynch, caviar dreg.
