How is saying "Thank You, Jesus" taking His name in vain?
Exactly.
Awaiting a response.

Behar is Jewish. She was not uttering a spontaneous, sincere prayer.

Oh sure, I just bet that ABC is very concerned if the name of Jesus is used in vain.ha! ha!
To: Arthur McGowan
On Fox news Behar said she was Roman Catholic.

Look up "vain repetitions" in your scriptures. Then do your OWN thinking for a change.

"But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking."
I think you're pushing the reference here.
Somehow someone who has successfully lost weight to the point where their daily (ostracizing) public weigh-in may cease, says, "Thank you, thank you, Jesus" is considered by you first, to be taking the Lord's name in vain and second, to be using vain repetition?
Sorry, don't agree. (And, yes, that's thinking for myself.)
ABC is anti-Christian, simply put. No new tale to tell...

She ought to know!

I think you're pushing the reference here. No, I'm not. One only has to live in the "Bible Belt," as I do, to see what I'm talking about.
Bumper stickers, tatoos on "Christian" rock band members, billboards, plastic figurines on the dashboards of automobiles, flashing neon signs, belt-buckles, you name it.
Their "much repetition" is everywhere, and I'm weary of it.
My personal faith includes a bit more sacred mode of expression toward deity than rote-muttering "bless *****" every time a lottery number comes up.

Many Mexicans name their kids Jesus. And they name their daughters Maria, too!
To: vannrox
It's official. "Jesus" is now a dirty word.
