D.C. police searching unsuccessfully in Rock Creek Park over the weekend for more remains and belongings of Chandra Levy instead came across some money believed to be from a bank robbery in the District last week, authorities said.
The bills, discovered Saturday in the general vicinity of the search site, had red dye on them. Banks often give robbers money with dye packs, which explode and color the cash red. /// FOR THE REST OF THE ARTICLE,CLICK AND GO H E R E.

Congressman Condit is not a suspect! Turn in your guns if youz wantz to stop krime.-Chief Ramsey
Because it wasn't there when they searched. This is a very recent robbery.
I'm not defending the DC cops, but if we start expecting them to have found money that wasn't even stolen yet at the time they searched, we look more incompetent than they do. :o)
Okay, follow me here, and tell me if I'm making too much of this --
Cached at google is this post from one "Tenny Mirzayan":
From: Tenny Mirzayan hey i got the setlist from the oct.16th show in pomona. stinkfist,46+2, Eulogy, hooker, prison sex, jimmy, undertow, sober, H., aenema, opiate, third eye...no encores.
As you can see from the lyrics on German Toolshed site, the band Tenny Mirzayan liked did songs about fisting, bondage, etc. The post above was made while Toolshed was on tour in California, soon to come to San Francisco. If Mirzayan was into this sort of scene (Yes, I know whe got married at some point around here) in SF before she went to DC, it isn't inconceivable she would have gotten to know to Condit, who likewise is a California Democrat into the bondage scenes in SF and DC.
Admittedly, it's hard to know too much about this Toolshed band bcause their website is down for now. But this caught my eye.

My own friend in LE says that, on just the points they most look at for detail, eyebrow angle, jaw angle, certain areas around lips, cast of face (remember Condit has lost 25 lbs and had a facelift since 1996)...says that Condit would be an obvious pickup off the street here in town if the compo was that close. FWIW.
As to the lesbian killings for which a Darrell David Rice of Columbia, Md. [150 miles from Luray], was charged, since he was already in prison for 11 years for throwing a soda can at, talking dirty to, and running a thirty-something Canadian female cyclist off the road in the Shenandoah Park in July of 1997---[is this an AWFULLY stiff sentence for that, or not?--c.] he was finally charged as the time for his release neared, with the lesbian killings.
Despite the nasty post back there somewhere, there is every reason to wonder what the state's case is based upon, other than that it so easy, it already holds him...and he did once commit a crime in the Park[14 months after the lesbians were killed].
The best one article I have read on this, but I have read twenty or so, is at:

Rice would have been 28 when the Williams/Winans killing took place. The women arrived in the Park on May 19[Sun.]; the killing took place sometime after they climbed a mountain on May 24[Fri.] and saw a ranger and got an extension on their camping permit. They had orig. planned to leave the park on May 24 or 25.
On May 27[Mon.] the father of one of the women reported them missing. Initially rangers did little, very laid-back, but became more serious after their car was found... On Sat. June 1, visitors to the Skyline Lodge and trail walkers near there (this is very near Luray) were hysterically and repeatedly asked if they had seen the two women; their dog, Taj, appeared at/around the Lodge that day. At 8:30 that evening, getting totally dark, searchers found the womens' pup tent in a hidden, secluded spot very near the Lodge and the tourist centers there. Even though the [dead] girls had been found, searching and enquiries continued--with no announcement of their finding-- through Monday the 3rd!!!
Mr Rice and his two friends, a married couple, the woman being a former girlfriend of his, came up to the Park on Sat. the 1st and Sun. the 2nd, but were together the whole time and it was the couple's vehicle that was used. No strange incidents were reported, though they were constantly asked if they had seen the missing women.
Mr Rice is 34 now, was 28 when the crime was committed. He is an olive-skinned, dark-haired, brown-eyed, lean type and cannot be the same man as in the Culpeper sketch.
The girls were estimated to have been killed the night after May 27[ie.Monday night]; they were apparently asleep in their tent and surprised. No secondary disturbance of the tent or the bodies was reported. Rice was at home in Maryland SFAIK...Virginia cannot put him in the State, much less the county, of the killings on the crime date.
The Culpeper sketch man was estimated to be in the 35-to-45 age range THEN-- in 1996.
It is utterly irrelevant whether they gained entrance to her apartment itself THEN, or only later when they came back to sanitize it and throw away mementos, pack bags, etc.
It is also irrelevant whether they simply knocked on her apt door (interior, hall) and grabbed her there when she opened the door...or whether she came with them a few paces such as to lobby or back door of building. Any such accompanying on Chandra's part would only indicate once more that she knew/trusted her assailant(s).
One can reasonably presume, under the circumstances, that there are no doughnuts...
