Actually, as an Indian let me tell you that recent months have seen extreme communal violence in one Indian state-Gujarat. The massacres are India's shame and have been wholeheartedly condemned by the rest of tne nation. Hindu and Muslim fundamentalists tried their best to whip up the rest of the country into frenzied religious hysteria. It didn't work because as a civilization India is tolerant. Our culture has imbibed from every religion and race that has settled down in India. Exceptions are there. The partition happened scarcely 50 years back and such deep seated problems don't just go away. As for India being a TERRORIST STATE-check your facts. We don't send bombers and trained pilots to other countries to blow up buildings and crash planes. That's Pakistan's work.

I quote from the article-'The Kashmiri people were promised a referendum on their status in 1948, but that vote has never been held.' Were promised a referendum WHEN the Pakistani army withdrew. And by the way, they were promised this referendum by the UN which was a provision the Indian govt. agreed to. Anyway, Kashmir is an integral part of India. The article is factually incorrect in many places. Events have been distorted and exaggerated. I ask readers to read up thoroughly and THEN condemn a country.
