Kosovo: ex-security official testifies about KLA plans to kill Rugova

THE HAGUE, June 10 (AFP) - A former member of Kosovo state security testified Monday in the war crimes trial of Slobodan Milosevic that the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) plotted to kill Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova.

"According to our knowledge the KLA planned an assassination attempt against Rugova. Is that correct?" Milosevic, the former Yugoslav president who is representing himself at the trial, asked the witness.

"It's correct," the man -- who is under protective measure by the court and is known only as "K6" -- replied calmly. He did not elaborate on the plans or how he came by this knowledge.

K6, an Albanian, was a member of the Kosovo security services, run by the Serbian interior ministry, until 1998. He began giving evidence in the Milosevic trial on Monday.

The man told the court the interior ministry knew of arms deliveries from Albania to ethnic Albanian rebels in Kosovo and the formation of the KLA.

Prosecutor Geoffrey Nice asked the witness why the security services took no steps to halt the flow of weapons into Kosovo, a majority ethnic Albanian province in southern Serbia.

"The main aim was that one day an armed conflict should start between the KLA and Serbia," the witness said.

He added that plans to wipe out the KLA in 1996 and 1997 were not carried out.

During Milosevic's cross-examination the witness seemed to contradict some of his earlier testimony given in a written statement. Pressed by presiding judge Richard May, K6 asked to explain the discrepancies in a closed court session.

Milosevic, who has been on trial since February 12, faces more than 60 charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity for his involvement in the conflicts in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo in the 1990s.

one can only wonder about the prosecution's wild fantasy which is apparently trying to make the case that.........the Yugoslav government was engaged in a complicated conspiricy to allow the KLA to smuggle lots of weapons, just so the government would have a excuse to battle the KLA..........

what a crock

as anyone remotely awake would recall, the Yugoslav government engaged in dozens upon dozens of anti-smuggling firefights staring in the Spring of 1998 and throughout Clinton's bombing campaign. The KLA makes great noise about how it struggled 'valiently' to smuggle weapons into Yugoslavia despite government patrols.

It is a shame that KLA Commander Drini was murdered by his KLA pals after the UN/KLA takeover of Pristina. Drini was the KLA commander in charge of smuggling weapons and would have made a perfect defense witness.

One really has to hand it to the HumWarriors, they really have fertile imaginations. They come up with the most outlandish explainations......

As has just about every other witness to date.

A plot to assassinate Dr Rugova? K6? Goodness, this all seems quite familiar...

The K6 wing of the Kosovo Liberation Army charged with liquidating revisionist elements within Kosovo province and the sovereign borders of the empire of Greater Albania. These veteran fighters specialists in close combat -- featuring the stiletto, 9mm pistol, and the hand grenade. Few Serb intelligence officers or Albanian traitors known to survive encounters with this organisation.

The Grand Master Milosevic continues to maneuver toward the end game he desires. Seldom has the Benoni counter-gambit been so skillfully utilised. The death of the New World Order looming on the horizon as finally east does meet west.

Dry is good and wind is better...

The forces of freedom on the move. Europe trembles.

The forces of Islam on the run....Europe belches....

Well, well, well, if the main proponent of Islam International isn't back? So, Mr. D. should I repost the bio we have on you and your sordid and generally decrepid rise to ????, well, we're still trying to figure out what you rose to.

As for the rest of the usual garbage you write, we'll see. Seems all your Russian predictions seem to have all failed. What with half your heroes already in Hell and the other half on the run. Good luck and may you meet Allah soon.

Isn't it great to see Fusion around again? LOL. Things were just not the same here without him.

David Hunter, meet Fusion. Your new best friend.

Gee, Fusion, I am lining up a bunch of new friends for you that we found while you were away. I hope you are grateful.

Oh, I did want to just mention that one thing about your other friend, Old Mr. Khattab. I hope you don't take this too hard and all but he, well, he died in your absence. Yup, seems someone didn't like him or something. Imagine that! Anyway he was poisoned, they say. He's on to the virgins now, oh, wait! That's right. He can't have those virgins afterall, can he? I had forgotten about that. Ah, so sad. Well anyway, welcome back Fusion. I truly did miss you.
