Clothing Found With Chandra's Body (Condit-Levy)
6-9-02 | crystalk

When Chandra's body was found on May 22, we started getting a list of clothing items supposedly found with it: sweat shirt, sweat pants, who knows what all. When I and other posters pointed out that she could never have been wearing all this at one time, the official list condensed to say that what was found was: spandex tights, T-shirt, panties, tube-type exercise bra, and ordinary sneakers (not running or specialty shoes). This at least brought it down to what might be worn at the same time.

However, it raised other questions. This is what someone might wear while working out on the weight machines in a gym [and oddly enough she was last seen, by the official time line, at a gym 2 blks from her apt] but one would NEVER jog or go on a long walk in spandex tights, and this seems a little chilly for 4/30 in DC unless in the very warmest part of the day.

BTW none of these clothes were said to be "worn" or ON the body, but just thrown out near it in a random fashion, and now the Enquirer says the tights were found around a tree clear up on the flatter area near the (official, maintained) West Ridge Trail in RCP!

We have seen speculation all along that Chandra maintained clothing at Gary's apartment, or her own, but that was all neatly packed by someone, in bags ready to leave, when her apt was searched 5/6/01. Only a few things left in drawers or closet.

It is totally non-credible that Chandra would have gone out to meet Gary, or to lunch with friends, or even to a bank or shopping, in the attire found on the slope in Rock Creek Park.

Even AT the gym, would she not have showered and changed back into something more street-worthy before going home?

I am wondering if these items, assuming what was found is only what we are now told, were WHAT SHE HAD IN A LOCKER AT THE GYM, to use just there while working out and then changed out of.

For a year, we were told that on Monday evening 4/30/01 she checked out of the gym and terminated her membership, saying she would soon move back to California. Suddenly about a month ago I began to see it said that the 4/30 transaction as evidenced by a receipt found in her apartment [virtually the ONLY thing found there: the apt had been sanitized and wiped clean of fingerprints]--showed Chandra not as having terminated, but as having PAID FOR ANOTHER MONTH--ie May, and thus continued her membership. Which is it? We are being told two stories. If the new story is true, was she really even planning to leave DC at ALL?

It has struck me that, if someone who was throwing out her bones (body, corpse) in Rock Creek Park had only a nude body, whether fresh or decomposing, and wanted to set it up to look like she had been attacked there...and this was after May 16, when all of Chandra's clothes had been taken by her parents...Where on earth could the perp get anything of hers? Answer: How about the contents of her gym locker, this one outfit she wore there while working out. [It was said that Gary and Dayton were also members of this gym.]

That might also account for the fact her name was sewn into certain seams...

My guess is that the leg was sawed off after death.

What would the point of that be?

Perhaps so that one party could possess the leg, and the other the rest of the body, and each would kind of have a handle on the other perp? Just a guess.

Let's not be opponents, Plummz. I may have already read your theory on the threads, but it sounds like it agrees in much substance with mine, since it involves a placement of the body on the slope in RCP "long" (ie more than ten weeks) after 4/30/01.

Cheers. Best wishes.

We are living in very dangerous times in which both foreign and, in turns out, domestic radical Islamists want to kill as many of us as possible. And THIS is what you obsess about? Of course, it is your absolute right to do so — and believe me, I do understand the appeal of a good mystery. But, as Snoopy says to Charlie Brown, "Good Grief!!!" In spinning tortured theories and obsessing over the most obsure details of this tragedy, I hope you leave room for something more in your life.

The fate of Chandra is certainly not one of the critical issues facing our country. However, I find the speculation on this thread to be interesting and as germane to the purpose of Free Republic as many other topics posted here. (Just my opinion)

How do you know about the possible sawing of one of Chandra's legs? Has this been reported in the press or is it making the talking rounds of DC? I am just curious.

The word "leggings" is still much used, but these were later said to be made of spandex and capable of being stretched out to great lengths, so as to bind a person's wrist to her foot while still wearing them (?)

If they stretch so much, how useful would they actually be in restraining an athletic, healthy woman? Would she be able to wiggle out of any such bonds?

About your last point: Quite honestly, the way in which the DC police HAVEN'T AT ALL WHATSOEVER effectively done their job at all renders anyone's theory as good as that of anyone else. Don't you think? If the DC police had any wits and brains and competence, there would be less room for our musings. Guess you just have to have an analytical and questioning mind, a rabid curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for justice to be interested in these threads. I know I do.

My head is spinning. One thing we know for sure - the DC police are a bunch of mindless idiots. It's almost as if they purposefully screw up. Will Chandra Levy's family ever get justice and peace of mind? Doesn't look like any time soon. P.S. We have not forgotten; Gary Condit's ROTTEN!

While we're here speculating on what happened to Chandra, Gary Condit is still sitting on the House Intelligence Committee. What a sickening creep! Him and all his friends and family and staff - a bunch of creeps from hell!

You don't take a body where it will be found. That has never happened in the history of crime. You take a body, if you have an unwanted incriminating body on your hands, where it will NEVER be found....your chances are much better of avoiding prosecution and the case "going away" ((as the Chandra case DID)) if there is no body and the person is mysteriously missing, than if you "plant" the body somewhere to make it "look like" something. It just does not happen.

I know all you say, V, but I am being mugged by reality.

That is one reason this case is so riveting. We now have quite a few otherwise-sane people (am I in danger of joining them?) who seem to feel that the murderer-perp DID put the body where it would "never be found," but others may have followed him or otherwise learned where that was, and brought it back whether in whole or in part, to torment, blackmail, extort, and otherwise confuse either the (original) perp, or the public.

This is a real classic in process here, I am coming to think, and that is why I am on the subject.

Who says the *murderer* placed it somewhere to be found? Why not someone else? If the murderer's sex ring pals were making noises about conducting open Congressional hearings into Executive-branch complicity in "terrorist" attacks, a good way to get them to back off would be to dig up the body (the burial having been captured on reconaissance satellites), place it in a park and arrange to have a "turtle-hunter" find it as warning to the sex-ring cronies to shut the eff up, already.

Very good. It probably supplies the motive (and some guess as to what types of people) are behind the scenario in my #51...wherever that First Disposal was, someone found out about it.

Even if that was in Luray, or in the tumble down ole 1920's garage behind a California congresswoman's nice Forest Hills home.

Oh, I have no quarrel with anyone who wants to put up a discussion thread on something like the Levy murder. As I said, I also appreciate the appeal of a good mystery. And Lord knows there are far less worthy things that are posted here from time to time. It's just that, as Donna Lee observed, the DC police have been SO pathetic and incompetent with this case. I would add that some of the characters are thoroughly unpalatable and some of the theories are so over the top, that the story just irritates me these days.

In a year of immense tragedy and genuine danger to the nation, somehow, well — to paraphrase the famous line from the movie Casablanca — the problems of these little people don't mean a hill of beans in this crazy world.

What's the congresswoman (Sanchez?) scenario?

A couple of the tabs floated a Nevada-desert burial scenario a number of months back, what's the take on other forums about that one?

FWIW, the pelvis is not a solid, fused bone. It's made up of three bones (in an adult). There is the triangle part in the middle (the sacrum) and the two bones on either side. These side parts are made up of three bones that fuse around age 15 (pubis, ischium, and ilium) When all the soft tissues are all gone, it falls into three parts unless there has been some bony fusion (which incidentally, I have because of a rheumatic desease). The removal of soft tissues is *much more rapid* in an unburied corpse exposed to the elements, carnivores and insects. An animal may hasten detachment of one side of the pelvis, and it isn't unusual in a setting such as Chandra's in Rock creek park. The bones that are missing and the bones that were displaced are not red flags of the corpse having been hacked up.

Here are some terms for you to google on: Taphonomy; forensic anthroplogy;sacrum;innominates

A for-public consumption site you might find interesting is here

To cast away your peculiar ideas about her head having been chopped off or needing some kind of "thrown corpse" scenario to be separated from her body, read here And critters in the park are quite capable of stealing away with her long bones. There are canids and rodents in the park quite capable of moving her femur and shin away to gnaw on the ends. Her shinbone had the ends gnawed off, and there are no cut marks to indicate it was cut off.

BTW, just saw again the May 29 WashTimes report -- it listed sweatshirt (since amended to t-shirt), sports bra, running tights, shorts, running shoes.

Where do you get panties from?

That is fine, thank you for those facts and your contribution to this thread. If three sizable bones, and a dozen little ones, MOL at random, were missing, I would buy the bottom-line effect of what you are arguing. I am not a conspiracy freak, and have often admitted error and changed position, incl on FR.

But when everything from part-pelvis, right on down to big toe, is missing on the left lower hip & extremity, large and small, all gone,.... and everything else, right, left, and center, right down to tiniest hyoid and finger bones...is present...

that is where I break down and use occam's razor to say that it was not the random action of animals, water erosion, etc.-- but human choice to take [away from here] that whole leg and all that pertains to it [or not bring it here in first place], probably done while it was still entire (fresher).

Surely, SW, my idea may be mistaken, but it is not IMPOSSIBLE, is it? You WILL admit it is possible?
